Yeah, like I'm 5'8", and I can't recall ever being concerned about women being physically stronger than me. Some good female strength athletes are, but out of the general population, it's going to be pretty rare. I've even been challenged to a few arm wrestles by women who were confused by the fact that just because we're a similar height doesn't mean that we're a similar strength. I've beaten plenty of guys who are over 6ft in sports. So I'm not particularly worried about physical competition with tall women. E.g. Elle Macpherson and Famke Janssen are 6ft, but they still only weigh 135lbs. They're really hot, but they're not particulatly strong compared to an athletic dude.

I don't get what's so gross about breast feeding. Edit: It seems to be a Canadian and of course, US thing. You'll very rarely encounter these reactions regarding breast feeding in continental Europe or Latinamerica. There's a strong nudity taboo, which of course includes the female breast. Being nudity for them strongly linked with sex, the sex taboo present in an American society digging its roots in Puritanism easily translates in nudity taboo as well. Therefore female breasts become a sexual symbol, so, in their minds, as soon as a baby becomes a litte bit older, the unconscious association between breast feeding, and incest and child abuse, becomes inevitable. That women are rewarded by evolution with pleasurable feelings akin to sexual satisfaction to encourage the nourishment of their off-spring (which is of course a huge taboo in itself) further reinforces this prudish stupidity. Most times they're not conscious about these associations, but that is where these deep feelings of disgust come from.

I was hanging out and drinking and playing cards with him and his "roommates" and was like "hey isnt weird that you guys pay rent but he doesnt have a job? That yalls rent covers the cost of the mortgage and utilities and buys him dinner but he's the one in charge and gets to tell you if you can smoke or have girls spend the night? Maybe he isnt more deserving of a mortgage & ownership rights, maybe his dad is just a millionaire, cosigned & helped him out with the down payment (since his failson cant keep a job, this dude would include i can play the ukelele and Duolingo language practice on a resume). Not that you can do anything about it, its just maybe hes not your friend or your roommate but is technically exploiting you" Anyway, brother in law lost his temper, we got at it and he hated me the rest of their brief relationship. Landlords have always been leeches. They do the "hard work" of... Owning a plot or plots of land hostage and then charging people theoretically infinite money to live on that land. The landlords provide no value to the land, the tenants, or the local economy by just being a useless lump that exists only to collect money for doing fuck all. Now PROPERTY MANAGERS are a different story because they actually do the work of improving the land they oversee, and in the case of a landlord that owns the land, there is overlap between the two. Most people just assume that Landlord = Property Manager, which isn't the case (just look at slumlords and Zillow, the latter who has spent the last three years bulk buying out single family homes so they can just sit on them forever and hold them random for exorbitant rents while never performing basic maintenance or upkeep on them. Seriously lotta horror stories about Zillows slumlording bullshit out there). Compare and contrast community owned and maintained properties (which are a minority in the US and Canada, something like 14% of all properties across both countries combined are community co-ops) which across the board have equal or greater living conditions and VASTLY, and I do stress VASTLY cheaper rents since there is no profit motive or rent seeking behavior, all rent goes towards maintenance and structural improvements .

Landlords contribute to a lot of the inequality in the country. They siphon money away from the poor masses into the rich few. I don't have a solution for anything better but that doesn't mean that it isn't a problem.
@J_LV

Landlord is the only job that requires zero work. Owning things should not grant you the right to exploit others that weren’t born into wealth. Landlords are not your friends. They want nothing but to make more money than yesterday. And if you aren’t making the cut, you can lose your business, your house, your apartment, or anything else you rent….which in a couple of years will be everything. And that’s the problem. If we’re moving into being a renters country then by default, property companies have all the power. They decide where every single one of us lives, works, shops, parks, vacations, etc…and the only reason why is because they were born into the ruling class and we weren’t. Simple as that
@williamcoreli6248
2 жыл бұрын
@@J_LV Zero work is a really idiotic way of understanding it, but even then you're mostly right. Most a landlord has to do is pick up a phone and call the property owners or (if the property owner doesn't want to be bothered) a maintenance company to handle the maintenance of the property. There's shit you have to do as a landlord but even then you're outsourcing that work to somebody else to get shit done and reaping the benefits all while having a subsidized or slightly subsidized apartment, knowing people working under property management companies I can't help but think how fucking smart they are for picking it as a career because you're a pencil pusher but instead of answering to Bill Lumbergh you're answering to a faceless, shapeless Eldritch abomination that ought to be fucking slain and on TOP of that you get housing vouchers from the Guoanbu... or whatever the corpo equivalent of that is.
