I like how a noticeable amount of comments on Bill's videos paint him as some sort of foreign otherworldly being who cannot be contained (and I was even going to make a joke about that here), when in reality (as evidenced by this interview) he's just a guy who puts videos on the internet. A talented guy, but still.
@baTonkaTruck

Yeah people seem to think he’s almost pure savant/instinctual/subconscious, but what really, actually makes him so great (IMO) is how disciplined his process and his thoughts are, so he can create art that doesn’t get detailed by thinking about things that aren’t the art. Even though it’s all art, the process can often squeeze and mutate the art, but he’s contemplated, experimented with, and refined his process to a point that IS almost otherworldly and savant-ish.

The best interview of bill wurtz by far. It's obvious you understood right out of the gate how he can't really open up about how he makes stuff. You managed to ask question while preserving his intimacy as an artist. Wonderful video.

I would love to interview or just talk with bill. His rich philosophy of songwriting and the creative process is so valuable and I owe so much of my own songwriting growth to him. He's such a treasure. Also I love him saying his website is archeological. I almost want to call it an art installation.

It sounds like Bill might benefit from hearing about superior canal dehiscence syndrome based on the beginning of the interview where he gets all flustered because of a loud noise and his admitted discomfort being interviewed. It's a common comorbidity of autism and ADHD, but it's not yet well known. In SCDS, holes in the skull make the brain perceive sounds as the body moving, causing people to become dysregulated or confused when they're exposed to loud sounds or when they have to speak loudly themselves! SCDS is treatable by correcting the mineral deficiencies that cause it (neurodivergent bodies are more susceptible to mineral deficiencies)

28:25 - there's a difference between these two meanings, hence why it can get confusing - people can like the songs for their own reasons and this way have a meaningful connection to it, but the meaning they might be asking is the meaning inside the track, not their own connection or interpretation

Except for the song "Money" (which I wish wasn't on the album) Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon IS a great album… As an album. Steely Dan's Aja is another great example (all the songs :-) probably several of the Beatles' albums including Sgt. Pepper are masterpieces as albums. So I don't completely agree with Bill there. But in many cases I feel he's right.

very cool to see Bill Wurtz on a thing in the world. Bummed though to see that you don't have any links to him or his stuff in your video description. Even in a situation where you have way fewer subscribers than the guest, you really should link to your guest. I'm here as a Bill Wurtz fan, so I know his site. this interview made me want to look at it again, because he mentioned adding things since I looked at it last. why do you not have that website linked in the description or on the screen? you have links to bullshit sound effects you use, but not the subject of your interview? Again, good interview generally- and I'm glad to see Bill talking about his stuff. Keep the grind going, your not doing bad work. But please do better. Link your guest before shilling your own stuff. you will shill your things on every video. If you are blessed with good guests, they will tell their friends if you send them a lot of traffic. shill for your guest a bit more, as more and more interesting guests will justify even more videos to sell your own merch on.
@subzu2733

I known your giving criticism, but that’s no reason to be a condescending prick about it, perhaps he forgot to link his stuff, perhaps he feel he doesn’t need to cause he thinks that the people that are watching this video already knows who the guest is because who the fuck care about watching a interview of someone unknown
