I know this is somewhat old, but I just replaced the bearings in my roller as well. The one was completely seized, causing the belt to burn on the shaft of the motor, accompanied by a lovely burnt rubber exhaust. However, even after I verified it's free spinning, it seems like no matter the height I set it to, it still bogs down to a stop on carpet. I had to add small spacers to the housing around the roller to have less of the bristles touching. Has this happened to you?

I've never experienced that with this machine. Did you install a new, tight belt?

@@VacLab I did not. I'm not sure of the age of the belt (my mom asked me to look at it before she deemed it as "broken"), but it looked relatively in good condition and did require some stretch to fit the roller back in. It almost seems like the suction is so strong it lifts the carpet, making the height adjustment pointless.

@@awakenedlast my Powerclean tested at 65CFM and 20" suction at the nozzle. So low suction.

So, I noticed the bearings are labeled "608Z", but are actualy "608zz" since they have metal caps on both sides?

608z and 608zz are the same. Metal end caps both sides.
