I grew up Mormon and seeing/hearing Bible stuff for 20-ish years. I legit still do not see how it in any way references The Last Supper. Like, wowie, people standing in a line and interacting with each other while there's one person in the middle doing a thing... The poses don't line up, the people are too far apart, they're not sitting down, there's no food in front of them- hell, there's *nothing* in front of them! And it's supposed to be a mockery of The Last Supper? Thin effing skin. They'd probably see a rock on the side of the road that looks vaguely like a man's face and think it's proof of Jesus. Believing in Christianity isn't a problem. Obsessing over it to the point of harassing and hurting other people is a huge problem. I'm glad there are some out there who are level-headed enough to take a reasonable stance on this non-issue.

I find it very funny that people think that the Dionysus thing was somehow supposed to be a reference to Christianity because it's the other way around. The bible was written in Koine Greek and much of it references Hellenistic tales, most likely because the added familiarity would have aided conversions among Romans. Dionysus was the original god who was born from a mortal woman, turned water into wine, was politically persecuted, punished the greedy, had banquets with the downtrodden, went to the underworld and back, then ascended to heaven.Don't get me wrong, Jesus was never meant to be a full-blown copy of him, but Christianity objectively did not come up with this symbolism.

I have a close friend from Venezuela and half of her family still lives there. Her brother was prevented from voting due to the government questioning if he was truly Venezuelan (both of his parents were born in Venezuela, so was he) because his last name didn’t sound Latin American. Please keep the Venezuelan people in your hearts, this election was so incredibly heartbreaking due to the level of hope they had that things would finally change. The regime has and will continue to do everything in their power to maintain control.

Even if the opening for the Olympics was referencing the Last Supper, I still don’t get the outrage. The painting isn’t sacred. It isn’t something that was painted by Jesus or one of his Apostles. It’s not some Facsimile or Figure included in every copy of the New Testament.

I saw a post on Facebook yesterday that showed stills of Wolverine and Iron Man in their death scenes with the caption "These mean nothing now", and they were right. These scenes were incredibly well written and acted by all involved and as hyped as I am to see both Deadpool & Wolverine and the new Dr. Doom movie, it doesn't change that those scenes are just meaningless now. Comics have a knack of bringing characters back through the multiverse or some form of magic, but we were saying goodbye in such an emotional way to the actors who portrayed these amazing characters that now I and many others simply feel robbed now that the actors have come back. This whole thing is just so conflicting
