My first concert. 14 yrs. old. I remember it like it was last year. We were by the tower in the middle. My first fry too. An older, more experienced friend excitedly came up saying he scored some yellow sunshine. Handed a little yellow pill to me and said take it. I did. Does anyone remember the water jugs being thrown? I was tripping balls with the multi-colored water trails. So vivid in my memory from 50 yrs. ago. Don't do drugs kids. I got lucky.

I became a teenager in the mid 70s and was a huge fan of all things rock! However, and don't ask me why, I knew every song from every dang rock band in the world except Black Oak Arkansas. I grew up in Maine. I don't know if it's because Black Oak Arkansas just didn't have a big following in my state or their record company didn't target Maine as a market, or what the story was. We all had every other southern rock band's albums, and rural Mainers loved southern rock, but nobody seemed to have BOA albums. I regret it that because I missed out on some damned great southern rock!

I wanted to add, David Lee Roth said he stole his stage act from Jim Dandy, but in my opinion, Jim has always been far better live. David acted, and still acts like he doesn't care to even sound good. But even though Jim is older a bit heavier he still sounds great, David Lee Roth acts more like Steve Martin today. I would much rather see BOA live over Van Halen. Molly Hatchet doesn't even have one original band member. they are a cover band now in my opinion. they still sound good, but it's a cover band. Lynyrd Skynyrd should be called the Gary Rossington band. But BOA will always be BOA with Jim Dandy. I don't understand how this has only got a 1704 views in 7 yrs. most of today's music sucks ass. I remember when R&B was rhythm and blues, not Rap and Bull Shit" what the fuck happened? I am so glad to see BOA still putting out great music. thanks again for this upload. Peace Joe

Back then bands played cause they loved what they did. Not to get rich, but for enjoyment. Same could be said about sports and everything else. People were happy by making everyone around them feel good. Not these obnoxious ticket prices today. Some bands would put on a free Street Party just for enjoyment. Not today. Miss those days for sure. It’s all good. Gods plan.
