Running joke about XMatic: it's all using string instruments, because both characters use Puppets.

Hazama was originally a boss character from the 2nd game, thats why he had a theme with Ragna that goes that diabolically hard. He also had his own boss theme different from glutonny fang, which is called Endless Despair which yes, has a 2nd version

Fun Fact: Unlike most fighting games, BlazBlue is very story heavy. Makes it really worth playing all of the games to see how the characters develop and interact with each other. Whether it be Ragna learning to be more accepting of having friends despite his hand in life or Noel overcoming the things she hates about herself. Absolutely love all of these characters. Except Hazama and Relius but that’s very understandable considering what they do. Especially Relius, Carl still hasn’t recovered from what he did.

Fun fact: The things Hazama was holding in nightmare fiction ii were butterfly knives, and they are like foldable knives, but they are tricky to use because if used wrong, it could cut you, but if handled with skill, you can do some really unorthodox stunts with it.

I admit, Weak Executioner fits really well, but the situation in itself is hard to read. To put it lightly, even if Litchi and Arakune are the ones fighting, the thing is that Litchi's story involves curing a man from an accidental parasite-esque black blob form that consumed his memories with an obsession for the Azure, while the man she's trying to save doesn't want to be saved yet, nor doesn't want Litchi to be hurt in the process. So the suggestion of "let it go" and "I can't" is there, even if it needs the context. The L.A vocal version, even if outdated and somewhat innacurate, at least explains this dynamic way better than the original. One of the few L.A versions to do that, mind you.

Also cool, but some characters actually change their in game dialogue when fighting each other. Like in Ragna's case he normally says the move's name for Gauntlet Hades and Hell's Fang. Against Jin it changes to "JIN! DIE ALREADY!" and "I'll never...FORGIVE YOU!" for the respective moves. Meanwhile Jin goes from serious to unhinged.

Jin and Noel's rival music is emotional because Jin is being driven by his sword (Yukianesa) to kill her. Plus the Power of Order driving him to kill anomalies like her since Noel is a Murakumo Unit based off her real younger sister, Saya. Jin hated Saya because of Ragna's favoritism towards her when they were children. At first, Jin only feels slight contempt for her, but then as his sword's influence towards him becomes more and more pronounced, so does his mental gets more and more corrupted. At the same time, even if they are siblings, the theme also serves as the theme for the organization they are working for (The NOL). So yeah, knowing how crazy the BlazBlue lore is, the music towards them is more like tragedy after tragedy. That's why most of the music have some emotional flair to them, especially if they concerned the three main protagonists - Ragna, Jin and Noel.

All of the II themes were remixed by GALNERYUS which is like a Japanese Power Metal band, which is why they’re so much faster paced overall. Some of them are ok but I usually prefer the Daisuke originals

While it's not oficaly listed as one, It's widly considered to be a versus theme between Ragna and Susano'o, or Susano'os unlimited theme. Check out "Hakaishin" when you can. It's really good. Also Unlimited Hazama's theme "Endless Dispair" and Unlimited Ragna's theme "Black Onslaught". Blazblue songs in general just slap all around.

When you search soundtrack on youtube, sort by newest, these are usually HD uploads; or listen to the the soundtrack in-game, most fighting games have a gallery mode.

I feel like Weak Executioner is a spiritual successor to Still in the Dark, the Millia vs Zato theme in the older Guilty Gear games. Daisuke said on a Blazblue podcast that it is his favorite song, I can imagine him making a Blazblue version of it when composing the song.
