Thank you for this. You explain it step by step with so much patience. I've learned a lot from this and from many of your other videos too.

ablindgibsongirl Hi Tiffany. How on earth have you been? I hope all is well with you. I am so happy you watched the new video and enjoyed it. I hear that your tatting is improving greatly. I know that your having fun with it. I am hoping to get a tat along done before Monday on the pattern Cynthia shared in Thursday's special summer class. She has to make some changes to the pattern then I will be able to do the video. Your absolutely going to adore the pattern. It uses this technique. I can't give any more on it as it is a surprise. I will say this though it will show you a 3-d tatted piece once it is all done. That is all I can say. I am sworn to secrecy. LOL. It is alot of fun to make as it is really an easy pattern but it looks so intricate once it is done. Anyway I hope to hear from you again soon. Happy Tatting. :)

Hi Linda, So happy your learning to tat. It is a wonderful craft to do. Thank you for watching too. the coating you see on the shuttle is a clear coat I put on top of the decoupage treatment I did. I use little stickers and things on my shuttles to give some kind of grip to them and then top coat them with a sealer that you use to seal the craft paints you use. It is called Ceramcoat put out by delta creative. It is a gloss exterior varnish. It doesn't smell like polyurethane does so I can use it. You can get it at walmarts and various craft store. one bottle last forever on shuttles. I have even covered the dark blue shuttle with fabric scraps and coated it with the varnish and it really has some grip because the varnish brings out the texture of the fabric. Plus the fabric was pretty I thought. LOL. I usually buy the scraps they have in the mark down bins and that is what I use. the cotton fabrics work the best. I will eventually get around to showing a video on how to do this process. It is very simple and so much fun and it personalizes your shuttles but the best is when using 2 shuttles you don't get them confused when tatting as each one is different. Happy Tatting

Thank you SO much for these videos. I'm a learning tatter, and these are so helpful. I noticed your shuttles have some kind of coating on them, that looks like it would give you a better grip. My biggest problem is holding onto the shuttle. They (or my fingers) are slick. Any tips on getting a better grip? Thanks, so much!!
