This film has the saddest and most heartbreaking ending of any movie I've ever seen.

i'd have to say that the end credits of blue valentine is actually one of the most powerful moments of the movie.

These are probably the best credits to any movie ever made.. and Michelle Williams is a smokin hot fox.

The most powerful, and painful scene for me was the one where they try to have sex in the hotel room but can't do it. It was gut-wrenching and horribly realistic, mostly due to the fact that it wasn't scripted, and Gosling and Williams were just improvising it as they went along.

It's one of those movies which you didn't realize was actually downright depressing until the end of the credits... Seriously, it makes you NOT want to get married.

This was an amazing movie. Watched it yesterday. Sad, heartbreaking! A part of me wanted Dean and Cindy to get back together, but I knew they wouldn't. Dean was an emotionally stunted immature man. While Cindy was more educated and ambitious. It's like she kept rejecting Dean for being the way he was. Liked how Dean asked her about the meaning of being ambitious and what does being a man mean. Very moving and touching film that is a must see!

@TehDDC It's called "Alligator" and it's by Grizzy Bear, whose music appears throughout the film. Interestingly the song, which appears on their 2007 album "Friend," actually has some of those firecracker-like sounds in it already, which may have influenced the design of these beautiful end titles.

@inthereel Besides the credits, I think I like the scene where he plays the ukulele and she dances. That scene was awesome.

@solidarity7 In certain respects I see Tom similar to Dean as well. Both are very persistent on making the relationship work no matter how hard things are but at the same time slip up and make bad choices along the way.

What? So many movies have scenes that are improv instead of using the script. I can name a whole list of them. For example, almost all of the dialogue from Drive between Gosling and Mulligan is not on the script since they didn't like where it would take the movie.
