This video was shot in late January 2008 on the BNSF (exBN, exNP) Woodinville Subdivision. It starts out in Maltby where a northbound work train meets the Renton Rocket. The work train is an empty ballest train, the ballest was dumped in Renton for the new bridge over the Cedar River. The Renton Rocket is headed south, cab-hop, to pick up empties from the Boeing plant. The crews had breakfast at the Maltby Café.
After arriving at Scopa, the video is back at Woodinville where the Renton Rocket ties up on the siding where the crew will expire on their hours-of-service. A few minutes later the Maltby Turn comes into town with a good size train. The video ends when they set out 3 box cars for the lumber yard. I was running low on battery and sunlight.
Back in the 1970s, BN ran 5 trains over this line, along with the Milwaukee Road trains. It was nice to catch 3 trains in one day.
The video was shot on a Canon ZR850. My wife got me this camera for Christmas 2007 and this was my first non-family video. I apologize for the camera shake.
