I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested. Compare Nucky to Hoover, both men gifted at saying the right thing at the right time. Nucky witty and charming, Hoover direct, calculated and cutting. Here, when Hoover forces Narcisse to call him Sir, it is all about establishing his dominance than perhaps his personal feelings towards race. We saw Nucky on so many occasions say what he needed to say. For example after the shooting at Chalky's warehouse, he gives 2 identical speeches to both groups advocating race and it is obviously no reflection on his personal feelings. A series of Nucky and Hoover clashing, playing a strategic match of chess if you will, would have been pretty epic.

Hoover could've killed organized crime in the crib if he wasn't so obsessed with stamping out ideas rather than taking down actual corruption. Then again, if he had tried going after real criminals his bosses would've just gotten rid of him early on - before he became too powerful.

It's a shame we didn't get to see this plotline develop in the final season it would have been interesting to see more of these two

Narcisse should have agreed to Hoovers terms..got out of jail..grabbed every dollar he had & left the place he despised so much. Maybe quitting while you're ahead isn't the same as quitting 😉🙏

These were two of the most despicable characters in BWE. If only we could have seen Hoover get murdered too. He destroyed this country.
