I agree he is the inventer. He play's it so efforetlessly. The guitar Bob understud vary greatly.Bob was one of the greatest bass slingers out.Bass was as good if not better than Paul Mcartney.Gutair wise I put (Bob)as one of the all time greats.Just as great as any British guitar slinger. .Love is the key...

When I was 15 yrs old I joined a little bar band and we made a good attempt at playing a lot of the Ventures music. Way back then we would but a 45 and learn to play by playing with the record. RIP Bob.

Founder and leader of the Ventures and original lead guitarist, Bob Bogle, shows you how to play guitar. When Nokie Edwards joined the band, Bob became the bass player because of Nokie Edwards lead guitar abilities. When Noke left, Bob took over again. They're both great, just in a different way.

My older brother was in an early '60s Jacksonville band called The Classics, forerunner to The Classics IV. They played a lot of Ventures stuff as I did. Don Wilson was having a great time with "Perfidia."

Yep - and its very SAD to inform all you you Venture Lovers out there is that they have all passed-away by January 22, 2022. May they all REST IN PEACE, while playing in Heaven as well. Their super duper drummer Mel Taylor whom hailed from Brownsville Brooklyn was the first to die from a brain tumor and cancer at age 62 in 1996, Bob Bogle left us in 2009 at age 75,, Nokie Edwards left us in 2018 at the age of 82, and finally the groups founder Don Wilson died back on January 22, 2022 at home in his sleep of natural causes at the age of 88. Also, lets not forget the late Gerry McGee whom died when he collapsed on stage while doing a concert in Japan in 2019 at the age of 83. RIP "The Ventures" 1958-2022 and they've earned their keeps, and their instrumental guitar music playing will LIVE-ON. Have a Happy Holidays for 2022 to everyone.

NOTE: A similar version of the 1998 Medley was performed in 1999 and available on CD "V-GOLD LIVE!" MYCV-30028. In the summer of '98 it was with Gerry and in January '99 with Nokie.

Its hard to believe they are all gone now . Leon is the only one left . I liked Bob Bogles sound . He always set up his guitar to sound great, Nokie seemed to be a little tone deaf . He hardly ever got the really sweet sound that Bob had .

Nokie's playing was more advanced but tone wise he couldn't hold a candle to B. Bogle's tones.

Love them both. I think Nokia’s playing was more subdued, and I agree maybe he didn’t focus much on reaching a specific tone. Bob was definitely more aggressive and that shaped that sound. RIP to both
