I just found out that Bob Wall passed away on January 30th 2022 at the age of 82. Below is a previous comment /critique I wrote last year and no matter what I said, Bob left behind a wife and two daughters that absolutely adored him. He did contribute his fair share to the martial arts world and was great as O’Hara in Enter The Dragon. No one took a hit better than Bob. At a time like this I would not want say anything that would hurt his family, friends, and fans. It’s one thing to criticize someone when they are alive, it’s when they have recently passed away and their family and friends are mourning their loss. I personally have lost too many family members and friends myself so I feel for his wife and daughters. So Rest In Peace Robert Wall and my condolences to his family and friends. Thanks for understanding. Bob is insightful, funny, witty and can really tell some stories...but I have a bone to pick with him on some things he said about Bruce. First of all you can listen to Bruce Lee on KZitem in a dictation recording he made reading out of the Washington Star newspaper and it says that Chuck Norris joe Lewis Mike Stone were his pupils, and he (Bruce) treats them like a father would a young child. You can also watch on KZitem Joe Lewis admitting that he was a student of Bruce’s. Joe goes on to say that there were other fighters who were very famous who will not admit that they were a student of Bruce’s. Bob says Bruce was the greatest martial artist when it comes to movie fighting. Again, if you watch the KZitem video with Joe Lewis he also says Bruce Lee was the fastest person who has ever stood in front of him, he had blinding speed and he could hit like a heavyweight, he said Bruce could take a 75 pound barbell standing, and pull it up to his chest and slowly extend it straight out until his arms locked and then pull it back slowly. Joe goes on to say that he knows people who can benchpress 500 pounds but they cannot do this! Jim Kelly said Bruce was unbelievable and that he sparred with some of the greats and was untouchable. James Demile said Bruce could beat anyone, no matter how big or how tough it didn’t matter, “he had the beauty of the art of fighting.” My point? Bob Wall should be telling everyone the truth about how incredible Bruce was as a real fighter because he knows first hand. Apparently Bob and some of the others asked Bruce if he wouldn’t mention that they were students of his because it would be embarrassing, but remember Bob and Chuck Norris said they only worked out with Bruce and they showed each other techniques but if that is true then why would they pay Bruce to only work out with him? Chuck said he showed Bruce how to kick high and this is absolutely not true, just watch Bruce at the 1964 Long Beach internationals. He spars I believe Dan Inosanto with both wearing full body protection and you’ll see Bruce kick to the head more than once. Bruce was challenged all the time and while in the USA he was challenged in Seattle by a black belt and Bruce beat him and knocked him unconscious in 11 seconds blood everywhere. This was at the downtown YMCA. There were several witnesses to this. Dan Inosanto said Bruce had tremendous power and speed that when he sparred Bruce it was like a bad dream and he has never seen anyone with Bruce’s fighting skills. I love some of Bobs stories but he needs to be completely honest about the real street fighting abilities of the greatest martial artist the world has ever seen!

@Emotional Content Bruce Lee wasn't a real martial artist and there is plenty of evidence to show that, now I can very easily go in to that. Jim Kelly lied about Bruce Lee's fighting ability I can prove he lied and it comes from the mans own mouth. Chuck Norris did teach Bruce Lee high kicks, Bruce Lee's kicking skill wasn't bad that's what the greatest kicker to ever be in movies stated, 10th Dan mixed martial arts grandmaster Hwang jung Lee (Silverfox) Bruce Lee had two months of kicking lessons in Hong Kong before he left for America that was in 1958 the source of that information is Hawkins cheung Lee's life long friend, Bruce Lee wasn't an expert at kicking so stating Lee kicked high in a TV show is irrelevant. Lee's philosophy at the time was to always kick low anyway.

I need to cop on and take your opinion over all them. Thank you for showing me the light and to help me discard my opinion based on fact. Oh yes that’s right Chuck did teach Bruce the high kicks, so why is there actual footage of Bruce doing high kicks at demos long before he might Chuck?? Oh yess that’s right Chuck is not lying. Cough cough.l!!!All these facts are online. Take the time to do some research besides talking absolute bolox on the internet. It’s not hard to find out. I once met a man called Larry hartsell, a Student of Bruce lee. He said he saw Bruce and chuck spar. Guess what? Bruce wiped his arse with him. Would chuck ever admit that?? Noooooooo of course Jim jelly was lying too as was Richard bustillio. It’s all one big conspiracy that Bruce was actor pretending to be real. That’s why MMA greats acknowledge his greatness. @@bruhmoment3731 muhammed ali was a boxer. bruce lee was a street martial artist and filmmaker. completely different. it much easier to get confused behind the mysticism behind bruce lee. muhammed ali you just need to look at statistics. no martial arts most likely didnt get together in a room and decide that, real life doesnt work that way but messages between eachother could be shared by reading in between the lines. the narrative during the 90s was that there were plenty of martial artists as skilled as bruce lee and some more so. but what people forget is Bruce Lee is a specific spirit, he's a hardworker who actually has a talent for the missed details in combat, which is evident in his films, he is the film maker/choreographer. this spirit is inside the best martial artist, the best sports hero and it's an attitude and way of life that inspires all forms of performance evolutions. this is what people are forgetting and why the top performers idolize him.

I listened to Bob quite intently and his narrative on BRUCE LEE JACKIE CHAN AND SAMMO describing them all as theatrical kung fu movie actors and not martial artists in actual real life. Not one time did he state that Bruce Lee taught them all and made them all better fighters. The entire interview was attenuating his own ego..and his own fight scenes with Bruce showing him not to be even laying a hand on BRUCE..All these fights choreographed by Bruce lee and it did sound as if Mr Wall created by him alone...this has just totally put me off this old man. BRUCE LEE WAS NOT ONLY THE MOST INFLUENTIAL MOVIE STAR BUT WAS WAS A REAL HARDCORE FIGHTER IN REAL LIFE AND WOULD HAVE WHOOPED ALL THESE WHITE DUDES IN REAL LIFE... NOW WE HAVE KHABIB AND ALL THE UFC FIGHTERS WHO ARE MOSTLY MUSLIMS WHO ARE KICKING BUTT.INSHALLAH

Well said. Strange how Bob Wall is only now dumping on Bruce's legacy. Screen fighter. Definitely protecting his own legacy and like you said this interview was a huge ego trip for Bob.

You are absolutely correct, Abi. There are a few nimwads who think they know Bruce---but they know SPIT...at MOST! Lee was Superior in his time. Those who knew him KNEW that.

Yep. Bob wall is an asshole. Check out his deadly hands interview to see what he said about Bruce. You’ll be shocked. Pretty horrible person and he calls himself a close friend of Bruce and that he loved him.

Bob Wall is still an asshole and a fake. In Enter the Dragon, he played O’Hara. He said he hired Jackie Chan for Enter the Dragon? WTF?!! Golden Harvest worked with Warner Bros and Jackie Chan was hired by Bruce Lee. It’s his own stunt crew. The scene where Bruce Lee side kicked Bob Wall was actually real. Bob Wall was supposed to use a fake bottle prop. Instead, he used a broken glass bottle and he was supposed to let it go when Bruce kicked it but he held onto it slashing Bruce’s foot which needed stitches. This delayed the movie production. This is why Bruce got back at Bob and actually side-kicked Bob for real and it was actually filmed and used 😂

@@TheHailstorm77 Yes, I remember reading these things back some years ago. And guys like Joe Lewis, and Chuck Norris---- (Who, by the way, I respect), were of the same basic 'Mold as was Wall; They all failed to ADMIT Lee was the Best Martial Artist they had EVER seen! I have watched video, however, in which Lewis Did admit Bruce was Exceptional---But he really Watered it down!

Because of Bruce Lee's fantastic skills, people often was jealous of him, they were judgemental of him, had envy on him, and often refered to him as an actor rather than a martial arts master. And it all started with this MMA . Then they call him the founder of MMA and he wasn't. He was the founder of Jeet kune do

Bruce was an advance practioner of 4 martial arts streams Kung fu, winchung, judo karate skills with acrobatic talent Due to which he innovated his own style that was jeet kune do intercepting fist. He was a MMA king and flowed with styles , he was a martial arts versatile , something like those good in maths can perform well in physics, chemistry and statistics & other related streams

I love hearing these legends talk. They just tell it like it is. There's no bullshitting or false modesty. Bob Wall doesn't get the recognition he deserves for his role in the history of martial arts cinema.

@@BruceWillow Honesty lol ? I heard he asked David Tadman to forge a Bruce Lee signature on Enter script , at first Wall wanted 5k for it , it didnt sell so alleged he went to Tadman , after forgery was added the scripts price rose to 10k......yes , Tadman , we know you have scammed people big time , last was Prop Store auction last month , dubious items like the forged Green Hornet Lee/Williams "sgd" trading card

What a great video. Bob Wall is a legend and listening to him is inspiring + watching him in the Bruce Lee clips brings back so many great memories of watching those martial arts movies as a kid. Whats tougher than Bob Wall or Bruce Lee? Being a good fighter & a humble gentleman. Thats hard to do. Whilst nobody is perfect Bob & Bruce looked after those around them and didnt forget the people who helped them along the way. Old time values❤👍

The first movie I remember seeing Bob Wall in was *"Enter the Dragon",* with the late Bruce Lee. IMHO, it was Bruce Lee's best movie yet. It's a damn shame that Lee died when he did. Who knows what he would've done, or how many movies he'd done had he lived?

A true martial artist doesn't have to fight in competitions. For the record did Bruce not train under IP man wing chun. I believe his whole family trained in the Chinese martial arts. The arts that are the parents of all Japanese karate and jujitsu. You can't say someone isn't a martial artist because they haven't fought in competitions. Martial arts are a way of life.
