I like Don Wilson, he is very smart clever man, it is very impressive how he took care of his health and body. Cocaine sure promoted JCVD's fast aging and that's a pity because he is so handsome! Still when it comes to Van Damme, I think Mr Wilsonis not quite right. In Wikipidia it says that Van Damme was a member of the Belgium Karate Team when it won the European Karate Championship and gives very precise record of his karate career, winnings, loses dates, countries etc. His teacher says that Jean Claud Van Damme had great talent and abilities to become world champion but he chose to become a movie star. It was not possible to follow up both careers, so he chose films. If he chose to become world champion in kickboxing and trained day and night like Mr Don Wilson, how do we know that he would not be the best??? He had all the possiilities to become star in the sport as much as in movies. He took up responsibility in the movies and he proved that he can be an actor star with amazing body and skills to fight! Making movies takes all the time and it was not possible for JCVD to develop both careers simultaneously. If Mr Don Willson decided to be a full time actor, would he have time enough to pursue career in the ring??? I think he played in several films but never became Van Damme!!! Tyson Stallone comparision is not same as JCVD, again, If JCVD decided priority to be a ring fight for the championship and dedicated all the time and energy to kickboxing, then Mr Wilson might would be surprised by experience! JCVD never talks negatively about anyone. Here is what his Karate teacher says about Jean Claud Van Damme: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2Wam1Jqwj3eEiqw

Interesting interview. But look, u can find evidence of Jean-Claude's professional fights c'mon. If I remember correctly he won most of his fights by K.O. was disqualified for one and lost another due to points if not a draw. Interesting issue on the vitamins though, great stuff. Also like what Don says about Contagion - spot on!!

No disrespect to Don. He was a great fighter, but his talents just didn't project onto the big screen. He didn't have the flashy kicks, acting ability or natural charisma of someone like Van Damme. I enjoy his films ok, but none of them are bona fide classics like Bloodsport.

I think thats what Don don't like and can't get pass VD took off to superstradom and he didn't he is the real deal Don but lets face it he was just bad as an actor and his movies were terrible they were. And He was not the only one alot of those fighters back in the day where real talented guys they were terrible at acting and movies they hated VD for that. This kid from Europe comes here and Blows up we are champions like Chuck Norris he blow up why not us they were just terrible the other guys Don too. Real talented gifted guys just not on screen. VD in Europe he really was doing Point fighting but in Europe they called it Kickboxing at that time Don got in the ring with gloves in America is called Kickboxing its really a what they called it and they just never changed it. Its really a simple thing they did not change and Don can't get pass that he can't its not that Deep. I think VD would take Don he would I don't think it would be as easy as Don thinks

He wasn't lying, there's a misconception on this, Van Damme did and has competed in tournaments point fighting and full contact. However there was confusion/misunderstandings as whether it was Kickboxing or Karate, as there were differences between america and Europe. Also Van Damme fought under his birth name Jean-Claude Camille François Van Varenberg which you can look up(and there is footage out there). Don Wilson was so quick to dis him (seems like he's abit envious Van Damme's success) and abit full of himself. I also believe Van Damme would beat Don Wilson in a fight.

I met Jeff Speakman in Las Vegas at his Dojo. I had a fighter i thought would be good in the movie business and he was an 8th dan black belt. I thought that Jeff might have him fight one of his students to see how good he was. He had said he would come watch him at his bout in the tournament that was going on. Jeff never showed up, never called. I am not sure how good a martial artist Jeff is in real life but i always enjoyed his movies, but after this experience with him, i lost all respect for him. I went to the head of the Mui Thai association in Las Vegas and again tried to set up a match for my fighter. I had the same results with them as i had had with Jeff+. I then went to Bangkok and talked to the association that controls the fights there trying to arrange fight for my fighter. I offered to bring him to Bangkok to fight at our own expense. They said he was not a Mui Thai fighter. I told them he would fight under any rules they stipulated. I had seen their champion fight before and frankly was not impressed with him. They refused every offer i made them to set up a match. My plan was to get a match then bet on my guy to win as he would be the underdog in betting and we could have made a fortune on the betting alone. I finally realized they would not agree to a match and told them i thought they were just afraid my fighter could win against theirs and i walked out.

I happen to know for fact that Ron Dodson, and his 8th Dan friend, Steven Seagal and Frank Dux are for real. I too had a very interesting career in the military and CIA. It all started when I was 16 years old. Due to my martial arts prowess, I was recruited by the U.S. Navy and flew M1 Abrams tanks off carriers for them. I served in the same squadron with Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Flash Gordon (he was best man at my wedding to Miss Saigon). I even went to Top Gun School with Tom and Val and won the Trophy. My Tank racked up more kills than all the other tanks in my Squadron, combined. Later on, my Squadron CO accused me of being TOO aggressive. So I had to knock him out with a spinning Flying Squirrel kick to the balls. Needless to say, I spent some time in the brig where the guards made us prisoners fight in Kumite style Death Matches which they took bets on. The guards would host the matches and secretly bring in VIPs from high levels of govt and industry. Some of the people who watched me fight were the President of the United States, the VP, Secretary of Defense, Senators, Congressmen, Pat Sajack from Wheel of Fortune, and the manager of the Waffle House. After executing several hundred prisoners, it was determined that I was too deadly to be kept in the brig so I was transferred over to the U.S. Coast Guard where I flew B-2 Stealth Bombers because they were short pilots and bombardiers. I never needed a bombardier on my crew because I can use my Chi to guide bombs to the target with pinpoint accuracy. After single handedly destroying an entire enemy special forces army, I was recruited by the CIA. I can't talk much about what I did for the CIA, but let's just say I have more confirmed kills than ALL OTHER CIA Agents, Army SEALs, Navy Delta Forces, Air Force Recon, and Marine Corps Para Rescue... COMBINED. Due to my amazing prowess in the field, the Director of the CIA personally selected me to become the youngest ever, and one of only 12 Pokemon trainers in the entire CIA. You gotta a catch 'em all.... that's what I did. Due to the extremely high classification of the project and need for absolute secrecy, our Base of Operations was Skull Island. Consequently, my final classified mission was coordinating with British MI6, the Royal Family,..... Because there have been multiple attempts on my life by Russian Spetznatz, Yakuza Ninja, and Sub-Saharan Oompa-Loompa commandos; they've also provided me with a substantial guard detail while I write my memoirs. My publisher is already in negotiations with Disney and it looks like we're well on our way to my life story becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe....whatever the hell that is.... Bottom line is, there are a lot of people out there who pretend to be something they're not. Everything in my life story is 100% factual. I know because I lived it. People like Don Rodson and his 8th Dan friend, Frank Dux, Steven Seagal, John Rambo, the Power Rangers (briefly served with them too), the Teletubbies, Derek Zoolander...these are all great Patriotic Americans but at the end of the day when you compare their on or off-screen achievements to mine.... I simply make them all look like sopping wet, velvet-lined pussies.... Not bragging... Just stating facts....

In my opinon Don the Dragon Wilson is not doubt one of the greats of all time very talented guy the real deal lets be honest his movies were terrible and he was bad in them. Like alot of the Martal arts guys who did movies B level there were terrible and did not translate into big things like VD or Segal. And I think Don having this thing against VD is that in Europe at the time when VD was fighting if you see the videos online they were pretty much Point fighting like they do here in the U.S. But in Europe at the time they called it Kickboxing and all these years later VD have not changed it or clarifed it thats it its really a simple thing. Couple with the fact that VD took off to superstradom and Don did not talented guy like all the other guys they were terrible and they looked at VD this kid from Europe comes over here and takes off. We are real like Chuck norris why not us they were just bad really bad and boring. Don he cant get passed that
@alwkicksta
Жыл бұрын
No...VD actually did kickboxing. Point fighting wasnt called kickboxing in Europe. There are pics of him in actual rings. He fought Sherman "Big Train" Bergman...who also fought Gary Daniels. As we know...Gary was also a kickboxer. Sherman made a video about 5 yrs ago describing a kickboxing bout with VD. He said he gave VD a powerful hook punch to the face/head that sent him to the canvas and VD beat the count and got up....VD then defeated him. Hook punches to the face are not allowed in point fighting. Sherman praised VD as the best fighter he fought in his career in that video because he withstood his power punches (durability) and came back to beat him after the knock down. For all those yrs, Sherman didnt know that VD in the movies is the same Jean-Claude Van Varenberg he fought a few decades ago. Also, copy and paste this into google for pics "Kickboxing/Full-Contact/Semi-Contact career (1976-1982) J.C.V.D. fans forum". Look the pics that pop up on google images and open the first two search results. VD was a kickboxer. You guys constantly try to downplay his accomplishments by just saying he was a point fighter. And for the record, point fighters knock each other out too...they go hard...

Come on guys van damme is a legit fighter. Plenty of people have confirmed it. Not sure why anyone still doubts his fighting ability? Don said “find van damme fights on video” but it’s been difficult to find videos because of one main reason. Van damme fought under his birth name which is why we will never find a fighting record with his van damme name. Plus he fought in Belgium in the 1970’s so I’m sure it’s difficult to find any videos of any fighter from Belgium in that time. Anyway one of the guys he fought named Sherman Bergman confirmed he fought van damme in Florida. He said he was knocked out by van damme in the first round with an axe kick. Now I’m not saying van damme can beat Don. Maybe he can , maybe he can’t but to discredit van dammes fighting ability is ridiculous.

it's so laughable but down the dragon is so right in regards of Van Damme he has came out and told the truth about how his body was built it was his ex-wife who was a bodybuilder she's the one who helped him build his body if you interview anyone about Fitness maybe you should try to get van dams ex-wife he's even went back to her and that's the reason why Van Damme is where he is now she has brought him back from the Deaths of Hell Hopefully the guy gets his shit together😊

I my view Don Wilson would lose to Jean Claude van damme in a fair street fight with no rules & also he would lose to him in a martial arts contest as well. Van damme is very skillful in his kicks as well in his fist punching & I know that Don Wilson will lose weather he knows it or not.

I'm a huge Jean-Claude Van Damme fan, he is the reason I had interest and learned Martial Arts, but Don "The Dragon" Wilson is awesome. I would love to see the two do a movie together and let the past be the past. As for a fight between the two, I honestly couldn't tell you who would win, in my own opinion I lean more towards Don for the win but who knows?

@@BruceWillow I respect Don Wilson as a fighter and he's done some decent movies but I have to admit he never impressed me on the screen. His kicks are just average and he doesn't haven't great charisma. Also I don't know why he keeps on saying that Van Damme wasn't a kickboxer. Yeah he wasn't a world champion fighter but he does have a fight record. Van Damme's real name is Jean Claude Camille Francios Van Varenberg. When he competed that was his name and there is a short video on KZitem of Van Damme competing in a point fighting match. I get the feeling Don Wilson was a little jealous of Van Damme's career when he was big in the late 80's and 90's.

Van Damme never claimed to be a world champion. He was 18-1 in kickboxing but he didnt stick with it long enough to become champion because he pursued a film career. The brunt of his competitons were point-based and the team he was on was a championship team (ala Karate Kid or Cobra Kai)..and they werent as "light" as you'd think. Those competitors get injured and knocked out regularly. He did at least 45 point-base bouts

Yes he did on his reality show in one episode he yelled out I was a champion.
@alwkicksta

@jonmacist He was referring to being a champion with his karate team. He wasnt referring to his kickboxing run which he didnt stay in long enough to move high enough up the ranks to challenge to become a champion. Him saying he was a champion is like Scottie Pippen saying he was a champion. They were both part of a team that won and all memebers of the team are regarded as champions. And VD fought very formidable karate/tkd etc fighters to help carry his team to win trophies etc. So VD didnt lie about being a champion. He has never claimed to have specifically been a kickboxing champion. He was referring to karate/open style tournaments and his winning team.

@@alwkicksta yeah but you said befire he nver said that changing your story now lol , other way even for charity and a exibtion fight JCVD still said no so he must be to wooried of the outcome.

@jonmacist I changed nothing lol. Reading is truly fundamental. He never claimed to be a world champion. Then I talked about kickboxing in the very next sentence. Because I was referring to kickboxing. He never claimed to be a world champion kickboxer like Andrew Tate or somebody. VD was tying his chamionship level status to his karate/open style team championships. I changed nothing. You just lack understanding. But youve been set straight now.
@alwkicksta

@jonmacist He has always said his only focus was film. And Im sure if he did consider taking a fight during his film career, he was considering what the effects would be on his image if he lost. Wesley Snipes thought the same thing when presented with the idea to fight Joe Rogan and decided not to fight. That would cross damn near every martial art film stars mind.

Don the Dragon Wilson, you need to STOP. This is ridiculous, Van Damme has fought in many tournaments and there is evidence. Its disgusting to hear how egotistical Don is its lame and he needs to attempt to gain a little bit of humility. I cant believe in 2020 he is still doing this.

He is such a motivation to myself at 46 years old. It's a blessing to witness older gym members keeping up with their fitness.

This is shame. These people were following bruce lees footsteps and behaved so stupid challenging to fight each other. Martial arts cultivate mutual respect. Where is it? That's why I dont accept many western martial art actors seriously...there are only bruce lee and Jackie chan and may be chuck norris... That's all.
