This person is a testament to everyone who has ever been abused. His whole family treated him as less than human. They tried to get rid of him,and succeeded but not before belittling him, verbally beating him down literally his whole life. But the catipillar transformed into a Butterfly anyway. The evil could not bring him down. Im glad he was able to experience love at least once in his life, because he really deserves it. Such a wise, well spoken and beautiful old soul.I very much enjoyed his story, and words of profound encouragement in the face of such a blesk and disparaging upbringing. I felt very sorry for him as a child growing up in such a loveless and negative environment. In spite of it all he has an aura of light surrounding him in this world of ignorance and unacceptance. To know him and to listen to his wisdom is to love himand change close mindedness.Bless you and keep spreading the love Legion. It makes sense. Change your appearance as drastically as possible to not resemble the person you were told you’re exactly like in a derogatory manner. Changed yourself to something that looks completely different than the humans who hurt you to show you don’t relate. Also, protect yourself by making youself “unappealing” to many others. This is all a coping mechanism which is liberating to Legion. I get it. The best part is, that this person is probably the kindest, most sincere person that will never hurt anyone in the way they have been hurt.

unless they are leaving out important details, it does genuinely seem like society had failed this person in almost every step of the way and that they had developed themselves out of the adversity to grow into at least what seems to be a very wise and keen individual. i'm happy that they made it that far and had pulled through the adversity, this is clearly an extremely strong willed person, but i'm also very angry that society has treated this person so terribly simply for being themselves, the only onus society had, if any, was to treat this person like a person, and they couldn't do even that. that is what really messes with me at my core.

Are they running away or dissociating? Because dissociation is a survival mechanism that works great in a chronically abusive environment with not much in the way of escape. It can become maladaptive outside of that environment, sure, but you don't hear much about those in that situation who cannot dissociate, usually because they are often dead.

One of the best interviews I’ve seen on this account. He may stand out amongst others because of how he looks, but he has a very good mind when it comes to life and his self-worth. Listening to him talk was eye-opening. He is proof that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Some people can go through straight up hell in their life and of course it changes them. This man has changed his exterior to be unrecognizable, but he has something most could never understand and that’s the lessons his childhood taught him. Some people were born into families that are supportive and inspiring and still don’t have some of the logic he seems to have. I wish I could see more of him. I hope he’s met good people and is living a good life.

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes. What an unfortunate yet beautiful and remarkable story. Legion's life is a testimony. I wish the world treated children with unconditional love. People will forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. You can feel the hurt in their voice just speaking about how their stepdad terrified them as a little boy, how their mother and grandfather deeply hurt them - but you can also feel the profound serenity and happiness they felt talking about their partner Mark. im so glad that someone was able to show them how beautiful life can be, because everyone deserves that. Legion did not become like the monsters who hurt them, and unfortunately, many people become monsters like their abusers. Legion took control of their life without hurting anyone. Just the story of how they came to adopt their dog made my heart so warm. oh how kind, sweet, strong, and empathic you are, legion. I wish you the best in your life and endeavors. This is the very first time that I leave a comment on KZitem and I just have one word to say: WOW! What a charismatic person! I could listen to them for hours! This is wonderful to see how some people manage to ridicule this ugly world, their trauma, and their ugly past with such strength! Yes, all these people (all of us actually) suffer, we all experience pain and we can argue that Legion’s body modifications are a form of self-harm, self-destruction, but what really amazes me in their case is the fact that when I look at them and listen to them I don’t see waste of life! In spite of what they have gone through, I cannot say what a pity blah blah blah, I cannot even feel sad or bad for them, I just feel admiration! It all changes when they talk! The way they hold themselves against all the difficulties they go through! It might be an act to some degree, they probably go through really dark days, but who doesn’t? It doesn’t change their vibrant personality! WOW WOW WOW!

I admit that I'm guilty of judgin. As I watched this, at the beginning I was somewhat disgusted with the modifications. (I absolutely hate snakes, and it's a phobia, not a fear of them hurting me.) But as he began telling his story, I felt guilty and ashamed for judging. I could see all of the terrible things that were done to him as a child, and it made me very sad. Why are people so mean and horrible, especially to children? As a Christian, I know why. God bless you, Legion. I hope you find true hope and happiness.
