Such a beautiful little knife. Perfect size to get a good handhold for serious work but not too big to be a pain to carry in pocket. I don’t own a Boker knife but I have Boker straight razor. Germans or German-Americans take pride in what we build.

That Boker Desert Ironwood is beautiful it is GEC level quality. I am really impressed with the Boker knife company they are making great quality knives .I have the Boker 1906 Castle Burg lock back and it is the highest quality no blade play quality fit and finish, expensive yes but worth it. If you like GEC knives check out Boker knives the ones made in Solingen Germany you will not be disappointed.

WOW! She is an absolute beaut 😍 That is such a classy carry, I'm going to have to try and get one, for sure 🙏 I may have to contact Boker, to propose that they consider commissioning a limited edition 1000 'bat' run, to celebrate 'Meatloaf' - the man & his music 🎶 since Germany 🇩🇪 loves a bit of Rock... God rest his soul 🙏 Nice Video Paddy, atb Gus 👍

My newest is the Boker cattle knife which is a equal end jack like that but its bigger, 8 inches overall. Fit and finish is perfect, centering is perfect, also in N690 steel. I got mine in bone and it's a wonderful knife. My only complaint is I wish it had an easy open notch which I can get done if I want. I've been very happy with Boker's Solingen plant

I was on the fence having to choose between this and a vintage 6066 Stockman. I chose the Stockman because I just love the pattern and it's a one off, being about as old as I am and still in mint condition🤩 I do really love that spearpoint blade though, reminds me of my Hen&Rooster Canoe. Might still have to get me one of these! Really adore that Sowbelly you have there at 12:36 and I wish the shotgun jigging on that RR was broadly available😍Thanks for sharing👍

That one is a handsome piece no doubt about it. I recently acquired a Boker 1906 castle wood lock back which came with the same pouch. Very nice. Exquisite fit and finish. Boker is making some really nice knives which do indeed rival GEC in quality. Thank you for another entertaining show and tell. God bless you brotherman. ✌🏼✝️

I agree with it being the perfect size for a pocket knife. The spear point is a favorite of mine too. I like the round equal end look of all the patterns made this way. It is a little small for the knife suitcase it came in though. If you didn’t know what was in there; you might think they sent the wrong knife. It is so big you could lose the knife inside of it. 🍀🥔🔪😂

I may be blind, but I don't see a lot of difference between $20 knives and $130 knives in most cases. I have a Queen from back when they were the top dog, and I have the new SMKW Queens. They're both good. I have that Rough Ryder buckshot bone series and they are all perfect. You could hide the R on the bolster and tell me they were a high end brand and I would believe it. The wood on this knife is very nice. That is a difference I can see. Obviously the packaging on a lot of high end knives are fancy, but I throw the boxes out. I do discern a difference between British knives and others. Eye Witness and A. Wright knives have a personality- certain ways of handling bolsters and scales, really stiff pull, etc. But those are stylistic differences, not quality ones. Same with Solingen knives. They have a nice old time European style and they are very nicely made, but I have very nicely made Chinese knives too. I see no need to apologize for Chinese knives. I may just not be seeing the things other people see as "night and day" differences in quality. To me, it seems like a lot of reviews are reviewing based on price tag, not the knife in front of them. I'd be interested if you would do a video where you take a well made $20 knife and a well made $120 knife and carry them a while and point out the differences between them that justifies the difference in price.

A 20 dollar knife will have D2 steel at best, if you are lucky. Otherwise its probably 440 or 8cr13, or "stainless steel". These steels dull quickly, (except D2) but D2 is a rust magnet, so there is a bit of a trade off. The cheap stuff will also usually have fit and finish issues. Maybe there are rough or sharp edges, because it wasnt finished properly. Or maybe the blade is off center with no way to fix it. Or maybe it has blade play...etc... These things are far more likely to be there with a cheap knife, compared to a good one, and you'll very likely have no warranty and no way to get your money back. The heat treatment on the steel is also much more likely to be poor with a cheap knife. Even if it says D2, without a proper heat treat itll dull just as fast as 8cr. Thats everything I can think of off hand.

@@FidelCashflow_YT Do you buy many Rough Ryder, Queen, Brother or Marbles knives? I have over a hundred, and on the whole I find that they rarely have any significant fit and finish issues. In fact, most of them are as close to perfect as you could possibly expect. I have three Case knives and all three of those have problems... gapping and stiffness and roughness in opening much worse than any Rough Ryder I own. I've never seen any blade play in any knife I've bought except for some $5 novelty knives. I've got Brother and Rough Ryder knives in VG10 and D2. Both of these are better steel than you find in a Boker or Great Eastern Cutlery. As for warranties... SMKW offers a lifetime warranty on Rough Ryder and Queen knives. A warranty doesn't mean much if the company is bankrupt. SMKW has been in continuous business longer than most of the brands of knives it sells. Try submitting a Schatt & Morgan knife for warranty service! I hear all the generalizations about inexpensive knives being not as good as expensive ones, but in practice they just aren't true any more. Many inexpensive knives are just as good as ones that cost five or six times as much. It would be interesting if a youtube reviewer did a review of knives with no pre existing bias from price tag and just compared one knife to another. I think there are some Rough Ryders that would do very well in a comparison like that. I find that Brother knives are consistently good, as are Rough Ryders, particularly the Reserve line. When it comes to bang for the buck with US manufacturers I think Buck is clearly the champ with its regular line of knives. They aren't overpriced and Buck uses state of the art technology to maintain the highest quality standards. Other companies would be better following Buck's example, rather than trying to maintain some sort of hand made artisan image.

@@StephenWorth Ok so you need to understand that im speaking in a general sense. Of course there are budget companies that do good work, and will have a good product. Also, there will of course be knives you get from well known reputable brands, that have issues. This is not an overwhelming occurrence however, most of time, an expensive knife will not have major issues from the factory. Just like most of the time, a budget company is going to sell you something, that does not meet the quality lvl of the more expensive stuff. Your personal experiences aside, this is normally how it works. The steel quality will essentially always be better than budget steel when you buy an expensive knife. There are of course exceptions, but this is to be expected. Also, to add to the benefits of a more expensive knife, take a company like Benchmade for example. Part of the initial higher cost is due to their lifetime warranty. Which you wont find on many budgets brands... So, better steel, better fit and finish, better materials, warranties. All these things make going the more pricey route, USUALLY the smarter choice. But, your experience may vary...

@@FidelCashflow_YT Rough Ryder is one of the biggest volume knife manufacturers in the world. They certainly set the benchmark, but other low cost knives are great too. I'd suggest that you watch a few youtube videos on bargain knives, and drop a hundred bucks at SMKW on some Rough Ryders, Queen and Brother knives. I think you'll find that your generalization just isn't correct.

That cockfighter in the background is unusual with the razor-blade, usually those have a small hook and a stone on the covers to sharpen spurs. What's the brand *?* I know Parker-Eagle made one, Queen, and Napanoch Knives released a version a couple years ago.
