Here is fact about Caillou that I think needs to be shared: Caillou was actually stolen from the series original creator (Hélène Desputeaux), as in she was never given credit to it. She also designed some of the characters in the cartoon, but was also never given credit. To this day the original creator and her family are still fighting for the copyright violation to be recognized. The books might suck but their creator still shouldn't have it stolen from her

Given the choice between Book Caillou and TV Series Caillou, I'd say give me a third option; neither. If you want the perfect antidote for either of these, I suggest a book about another bald kid whose name begins with the letter C in a yellow shirt and his baby sister. I'm talking, of course, about Charlie Brown from Peanuts. There's a book called "You're a Big Brtoher, Charlie Brown!" that takes place when Sally was a baby. Unlike Caillou, Charlie Brown is genuinely happy to have a younger sister, and there's a humorous moment where he runs out of his house screaming he's a father before correcting himself. Sure, Charlie Brown does get upset with Sally when she messes up his favorite puzzle and causes him to miss a baseball game his friends are having because he has to walk her around the neighborhood, but he doesn't stay mad at her for long because he knows she's a baby who can't help these things. At worst, Charlie Brown yells at Sally, but he never physically abuses her and he feels bad when he hurts her feelings. When he explains his problem to Linus, Linus assures him that brothers and sisters can get along with each other, and this is coming from someone whose own older sister, Lucy, is a bully. I recommended You're a Big Brother, Charlie Brown! to a young boy who was going to have a baby sister of his own because I wanted to start him off on the right track.

I have to say that at one point it was a culture shock for me to learn how much Caillou, or Kaapo as it is known here in translation, is hated in the world, when as someone who has lived in Finland all his life, I was used to that people remember the series mainly with nostalgic warmth and panic if it is suddenly not shown on TV. However, I don't know if the reason for this difference is the way Caillou was translated and dubbed into Finnish or the fact that only the animated parts of the series were shown in Finland while the live-action frame narrative was omitted. On the other hand, I haven't found any noticeable differences between the English and Finnish dubbing, except that in the English dub the narrator speaks less and Caillou has a higher and more creaky voice than in the Finnish dub which may appear as a tonal difference. But it must be admitted that Caillou was not an exemplary and perfect model child in every episode, for example, in the episode where Caillou pinched his little sister, the episode talked a lot and taught about why kids shouldn't do that and why it was wrong for Caillou to pinch - or at least that's how I remember the Finnish dub of the episode.

The rock brain would show the behaviors that are not acceptable and the flexible brain would show the behaviors that are acceptable. The flexible brain is like the role model. 0:03 yes 0:12 probably 0:23 yes (a strong bite to my sisters back. Got in biggg trouble.) FYI it’s a 3 year age gap between us. Also it was a long time ago. I would still bite my siblings if I could get away with it. we are all adults who can bite back.
