I was so excited when I saw your thumbnail because I JUST finished the Kiss Curse and loved it even more than the first one!! And I just picked up Maeve Fly from my library 😍 I really appreciated your perspective on critical and literary analysis. I’m here for it!!!

Thank you! I admire the way you review books with an eye on sociopolitical issues so it means a lot coming from you! I just finished The Kiss Curse and omg it’s soooo good! Maeve Fly is fun and well-written but more extreme horror than I was prepared for. I’m still a horror baby lol. Thanks again! 💜👻

There are so many events these days and I want to participate as I can. I will say that I don’t put too much pressure on myself to complete every single prompt board or do every little thing for the event but try to have fun with what I’m able to fit into my life and take part in the community aspect of it all.

I'm so excited to hear you enjoyed the ex hex! I recently had someone recommend this book to me but I'm so picky with witchy books however I think I may really enjoy this one! Definitely going to request it from my library! I also currently have Maeve fly currently checked out! Super curious about it!

6:13 I think this is an excellent callout! I honestly feel like the biggest thing that beat my reading slump was to exclusively allow myself to "mood read" ❤❤❤

10:20 that's a great point too! I always hope people will understand that its just something that i noticed and that didnt work for me but may for someone else! I'm always afraid of miscommunicating my thoughts 😅

Thank you! The Kiss Curse is even better than Ex Hex - I think you’ll enjoy the series since you like Cackle so much. Maeve Fly is extreme horror/body horror FYI. Like it’s fun but I haven’t seen anyone mention that part of it and I think it’s important to know. With readathons I think the issue is that creators will do hauls or reviews and recommend books, so we buy those books, and then they launch a month-long readathon where the prompts don’t line up with any of the books they just told us to buy. I didn’t want to call this out in my video because everyone’s just trying their best to make fun content but it’s a quirk of timing that I’m now aware of. I haven’t had enough wine to go down this rabbit hole lol but there’s actually a cultural component to “I’m just pointing out a thing that I noticed, what does everyone else think” vs “when i say something, it’s implied that I’m convincing you to agree with me, because there’s only one correct way to think.” I’m not sure I’ll ever go into detail on this in a video because I’m not prepared to be an activist, but it’s something you can’t unsee. But anyway, I always appreciate the way you share your ideas, and your message is always understood! There aren’t enough people who are willing to dig deep in reviews and admit when something isn’t working! 💜💜💜💜👻👻
