@@SomethingSomethingg I went on a September 5 years ago, but it was a risk since typhoons would likely pass the country that month. Mid Nov is still somewhat lean season especially during weekdays (We have holidays at the start and end of the month: Nov 1-2, 30. Better avoid those dates if you want less people at the beach). Also, monitor weather forecasts in the Philippines and the Boracay area 1-2 weeks before your trip so you'll have an idea what you're in for.

I know you want to be positive, would be helpful to give the pros and cons. Great beach and sand, one of the best sunsets. Cons way too crowded, tricycle driver charging 5 to 10 time more than he should. Food mostly very good at a world class resort reasonable priced. Went a few times and it's time to checkout other resorts.
@idakristinedemesa5234

There’s more than one beach in Boracay. The most famous, which also has the longest coastline is the White beach. It’s the most crowded, too. Station 1 (White Beach) has the best sand ever. I also used to love Puka Beach, but it has also become over-crowded. It’s still the best for taking photos in crystal kayak. Just on the other side of White Beach is the Bulabog beach. Some of the accommodation there isn’t as pricey. It’s also less crowded. If you fancy snorkeling, then I recommend Ilig-Iligan beach. Diniwid also has its appeal. Great place to take pics and more private and with snorkeling area, but I wasn’t able to do snorkeling there. It’s beautiful, but avoid it during typhoon as all the trash goes there. If you want more privacy, then you may check in Savoy Hotel, Fairways and Blue Waters, Movenpick, Shangrila, New Coast, etc. These resorts have their own beaches with white sand.

The green algae are generally provide food and shelter to many aquatic small fishes. possesses no danger to humans and decomposes like all organic matter. The algae season is usually in the first quarter of the year. So, if you don't like algae skip these months.

Being from Florida, I really liked Boracay. It has beauty it has nice people. The beaches were clean. I live on west side of Florida so it's nice to see clean beaches. The one thing that bugged me. Was all the vendors especially at night. Every minute I was approached by some one either to eat in a restaurant, go sailing, sky diving, some toy they were trying to sell. Island hopping. Couod not just walk and enjoy was just solicited. All over Florida's beaches all these options are available and not annoyed as I was with the vendors on the beach at boracay. At night there is no escape. Only bad experience though. Plenty of food options . Plenty of hotels to choose from.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte: "Boracay is a cesspool." In February 2018, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte called Boracay a "cesspool" and ordered the island to close to tourists for six months to rehabilitate it. Duterte said the island had become a "cesspool" due to years of overcrowding, partying, neglect, and waste being discharged into the sea. The island's sewage conditions had worsened, and some beaches had water with e. coli levels that were 47 times higher than acceptable levels. Duterte also said that overdevelopment had left the island vulnerable, and that the local government had contributed to the problem by allowing illegal waste disposal practices.

Basically it's a bit overrated. It's Ok, but the water has clearly been affected by pollution, which shows because of the excessive algae production. This results in a greeny shade of water, rather than turquoise (the ideal shade you get in areas of coral reefs or remoter islands less affected by freshwater runoff and pollutants). The ecosystem imbalance because of overfishing will also have something to do with it. Mexico have exactly the same issue in places like Tulum, except it's even worse there (Sargassum).

Boracay- my least favourite spot in the Philipiines. I can’t believe people think it’s that good compared to about 20 other destinations ( and more) ! Overcrowded, overpriced and pretty boring , but happy so many tourists go there to keep other secret gems less touristy!

Agree 100%. Bora is just beach and party. Nothing else. There are great islands that has white sand beaches, waterfalls, lagoons, springs, etc. Camiguin, Siquijor, and Siargao are examples that have everything and you can rent a scooter and go.
@otomorim

Boracay has become over rated and has become too touristy IMO. You may want to visit other lesser known islands (Siargao, Coron, Romblon, Siquijor, Pagudpud, and even Quezon Province) that offesr the same, if not better, beach options for that instagramable pictures. If you don't want that over crowded beaches and commercial establishments and just want the serene silence of beautiful beaches, there are more places that you can discover in the Philippines.
