Have had my Pro16s since March. Still have yet to clip them, and I've had them bumpin'. Was at Loft28West in Aurora this weekend and they filled the room so nicely with full frequency spectrum sound.

Thanks for an honest take on this comparison! Thats good to know that the bass is powerful on the Bose, for DJing that's huge!

Thanks for your great comparison. You will always strike a nerve with people but that’s life. Ever since I’ve had my Pro 16s I have at least 2-3 people (even other DJs) ask me what they are cause they sound so good. I was only able to compare them to every speaker in guitar center and over the course of 4 hours (using my own music) these were impressive. Money well spent. Again, thanks for your comparisons.

Glad to finally come across a channel and comments section singing the Bose's praises! I'm looking to make a serious investment in my rig as I currently only have 2x Alto TS415 active speakers and no sub but have been experiencing lots of back and hip issues as of late which have made it a pain to constantly lift, carry and set up my rig. I got my eyes on either 2x Bose L1 Pro 16s or 1x L1 Pro 32 + Sub2

I have the Bose pro 16 I love them. How are you hooking them up. Mixer to one and then the other. Wanna make sure I’m getting the best sound

You don't need to apologize for not being a sound engineer. I am a sound engineer, and although things can be subjective, I agree with you! After comparing the Bose L1 Pro 16 to most of the other speakers in the price range, the Bose wins, hands down!

I'm the assistant engineer under the Grammy winning head engineer (Dolly, Metallica, etc.) who initially picked the Bose, but after more review, picks the LD, audio-wise, and also for not having an on-board mixer, again audio-wise. Purpose here for an instrumentalist: keys in our case, and even on a small occasion, a 5 string bass (i.e., 31Hz). Build quality is a no-brainer: LD. So, it probably does just depend on your purpose.

I've since received the LD and it smokes for sure. Listened to mainstream music first and then hooked up the Crumar Mojo Classic with P&M footpedals, as well as the Hammond SKX Pro. All problems in life are now solved.

Out of curiosity does the music you play have a lot of that sort of sub 60hz bass… that bass you “feel but don’t hear”? Thinking about live music, when I run a band, the mids are where the mix is made or lost, down at 60Hz, I want a clear and punchy kick drum but below that, unless there is a synth on stage that throws out a sub-bass, I’m not pushing a lot there. I wonder if that’s why the live band guy loves the LD… for what he’s needing/mixing, the LD doesn’t clip the bass, and gives him the mids for the guitars and vocals etc… Interesting comparison and application. Thanks! for the update.

Yes The Hip Hop and club music does. I think they were both be great speakers for a band but you probably like the Maui 28s better for your application.

Hi mate, hoping you or anyone in the comments could help me decide here. So im looking to sing house/ dance music through a portable PA with a wireless microphone Shure beta 58A. So the bass, volume and vocal sound clarity is needed. All this considered, what portable pa speaker would you recommend? My local shop is recommending the Studio Master 121 MK but i keep edging towards the Bose L1 Pro ... Any thoughts or advice would be a great help.

I had a chance to play a single Bose pro16 the first time in a total outdoor for a group of about 200 people. I could not believe how well it served the crowd. I do have a pair but I tested with only one Pro16 and kept the other as a spare. After this, I doubt I will ever pack a pair of Bose pro 16 for a part that has less than 200, indoor or outdoor. I also think the Bose pro 16 has to be used with the Bose Tonematch to be perfect, even with the older model T1 mixer. Why? Because the mixer's will provide delay, reverb, compressor, gate that make the sound perfect and eliminate squeal and hissing sound. I have used Yamaha, JBL, and LD systems portable systems and none beat Bose. For me, I would rather spend a few more hundred bucks to have the best "portable" Bose system.

I own a pair of pro32 and the latest T4S mixer they are all junk. Reverb FX is so bad is like speaking into an empty can of coffee. Junk period !

I tested the Bose, JBL PRX ONE, and Yamaha at GC. Every time I texted with Jazz music mind you, the JBL was the first to clip, the Yamaha just didn't have that punch I wanted. But the Bose, it took a lot for it to clip. So if you're saying the LD clips as a DJ, which is what I want to use it for in smaller venues, then this tells me I made the right choice with Bose.

We had bose, but the wobble killed me, I hated it. LD gives you more of a middle and low side. At 400.00 less per set and in white with covers and carry cases the LD wins. Sound is amazing, not better, but as good for sure.

I kept both pairs so I have the Bose and the LDS and I love them both. I just feel the Bose are much louder and better for bigger crowds.

I own a pair of Bose pro32 they are junk, no mid just high and low & they cause feedback easily with a live mic near by. I ordered a pair of 28 g3 what a different in sound quality and no feedback. Yeah Bose might be louder… it’s quanity vs quality of sound. Maui look super high end quality craftsmanship and Bose is really cheap in fit & finish. My Bose are on OfferUp & Craigslist.

Thanks for watching, I've never owned or heard the Pro32s so I have no opinion on them. The Pro16s are the newest line and from Bose what I've heard are way better than older models of Bose speakers. I do agree the build in not up to the level as LD systems or EV. For DJing weddings up to 200 people in an average size venue, I will take the Pro16s over maui 28s and the Evolve 50s any day of the week. Thanks for your input.
