I absolutely agree that the AAA battery is far superior to a rechargeable battery. You can get a replacement battery almost anywhere in the world, and for those of us who travel that means a lot. Charging a device in a foreign country can be problematic at times. I certainly wouldn't want to be stuck somewhere for hours just to recharge my headphones. The AAA battery lasts a long, long time and it's easy to throw a couple spare batteries in a backpack, boarding bag, etc. I own the QC-15s and don't travel anywhere without them. Noise cancellation was my primary reason for buying them and I would buy a new QC-25 without a moment's hesitation. Good video!

You people all need to realize that you can get some rechargeable AAA batteries and cycle those. They last long, and you'll never have the problem of listening-time degrading more and more as the weeks and months go by. Plus, AA and AAA are available in virtually every city and in every village general store *worldwide* from Asia and Africa to the America's. The fact it has not a built-in battery is actually a VERY good deal in my opinion (freaking smartphones these days). Batteries degrade over time and are rated for x charge/discharge cycles~ approx 300-500 cycles for lith-ion and lith-polly cells; that means between 1 and 2 years if you charge it once every day; hearing/call-time gets degraded over time as well as time goes by, until the headphone just stops working because the battery is dead. Having AAA as the power source for this headphone for the average consumer is like having your cake and eating it too. Wish I could afford them myself =)

There is a reason of the AAA Battery, what if you are about to board a 18h flight, you can have spares on the case, or bought in duty free.. you may say that 18 is a too much, but in the States most of flight are very direct, but in my case living in south america, flying overseas , could be 12h to the states 18 - 24 Europe and 36h+ to Asia. I think Bose want a great worldwide product, also one think i noticed in Europe is that there are not such thing as free charging station or Power Outlets. In my country Ecuador , there are lots of power outlets everywhere not just airports also restaurant and even parks...

4:30 i can say a lot of bad stuff about these headphones from a sound standpoint but i gotta disagree the plastic is probably there to make them lighter(as u mention later on) the feel well built but the sound is just terrible imo im selling my pair on ebay since the sound they produced seemed sharper than my other headphones up to the point where i felt ear pain after around 30 minutes of usage on similar volume settings to my other Headphones that being said, my 50€ Bose in ears have been serving me very well, offering imo better sound while in quiet environments for 1/4 of what i paid for these

Im surprised by these headphones...I like them a lot and this is despite having a lot of different ones ie: momentum over ear 2.0, hd 555, klipsch i10 i4, senns cx 300 and finally top denons 7100 - to me from portable source bose qc25 are great (cant touch denons off course) probably even better than momentums...and this where i was surprised as I was expecting them to destroy bose...here is the thing if you are listening music outside your home on the go these are way better than in ear or any other headphone that doesn't have noise cancelling... you just hear more detail and it is actually relaxing...plus from all headphones I've had this are most comfy...say what you will but if you dont have comfort you wont use headphones very long...regarding base its there and after burn in (about 100h) its more pronounced and with AC on it does have a punch, its not lacking by any means but it doesn't blow your head. Test it before you buy!

One comment about audiophiles or hi-fi enthusiasts - it is actually not about the flat sound. Flat sound is for monitoring - mixing, mastering, etc. For the music enjoyment, it depends on the "character" and type of music. If bass is a meaningful part of the song, it should stand out more for example.

How is it for Gaming? I have been using steelseries siberia elite prism for some time. Before that I had steelseries siberia v2 frost blue. Both the steelseries headsets were really comfortable but Elite is a lot heavier. This QC2 is a lot lighter. So it should be more comfortable. A comparison will help me greatly.

Wow! Great review man. It's like as if you read my mind...because I actually imagined you would review this headphone. None the less, I think these ones have an above average sound quality when listening to hip-pop or something similar. In terms of the bass, they can definitely be compared to the Skullcandy Crushers because I think those ones also require a battery as well, but crushers have horrible sound quality. Anyway, I think you deserve way more views than this. Your vids are very well done. Keep it up!

Early this year (2019) I've decided that I wanted a pair of good headphones (i've had a pair of skullcandy crushers for about 3 years now) and after digging into the webs and thanksto a mighty offer by amazon I got these for about $100. One of the main reasons I got these over the newer qc35 -besides the price tag- was the AAA battery. Anyway, to my ears they sound great and are the most comfortable pair of cans I've ever had. The only downside is that a couple months later the sony 1000 xm3 went on sale and of course I had to get them, soundwise they are so much better and they are what i take with me to my job, but the cmfort factor in the bose made me kept them and are what I use when working at home.

You just read my mind! That's mind blowing! Another fantastic review. (I also love the background music you make) The thing I do not understand is that most of the Bose speakers are known to be bassy, but for some reason they chose to do it this way. returned M40x after 10 days, just too tight for me. And M50x seems too large for my need. I was hesitating between QC25 and Momentum 2.0, for about the same price, I gave up some bass for a comfort and quieter headphone ( also lighter on my head). Got QC25 for about a month now. I also find the low is a bit thin, and my Note 5 isn't pushing it very loud either (75% volume+) Also, I was lucky to get the triple black edition, it looks very classy on head, not stupidly attracting attention like Beats. Battery life was also great, first one lasted 20 days ( I use it almost everyday). So, yeah, if I had to choose again, QC25 hands down. I wish: - more low end - wider ear pad toward the inside to give more contact surface (pressure could be lowered a little bit)

The main criticism of Bose products is that they are overpriced for what they are. Which I think for the most part is true. Over the years the company has spent more money on their marketing then engineering. Your description of the sound signature is in line with a long time criticism of Bose. Which is "No highs, no lows it must be Bose." These headphones do sport very good noise cancelling performance. As far sound performance, it's not offensive nor something to write home about.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed but sound does leak out from the QC25's headphones. I have the Sony MDR-100AAP and while comparing these with the QC25's at the same volume level on my iPhone 6S, my wife standing about 6ft away mentioned that she could hear the song I was monitoring clearly and a bit loud when I had on the QC25's. With the Sony's, she could barely hear the song I was listening to, and in fact the Sony's in my ears sounded louder then the QC25s and so I thought she would hear the Sony's at a distance. I obviously cannot tell the volume of sound emitting from my headphones with them on, but I thought to mention this observation.

I own a QC 25 and now a QC 35 wireless Bluetooth one. Both are of the same quality... Par excellence.... The only problem I have with QC 25 is thst the cable :2.5 jack which is detachable has a manufacturing defect for all most all the QC 25 headphones. Within months of very careful using, mostly on planes, I realised that with a slightest, turning your head is a reason enough to lose contact and only one side of the cups plays... You shove the cable in and it works fine again... This is not a specific problem of my headphone but all the QC 25... Just Google it. You did not talk about this in your otherwise great review...

I have had the qc15's for many years, the only reason for me to upgrade is the fact they will continue to play music (without noise cancellation) after the battery has died. The cable on the 25's is not a 'standard' cable as mentioned here. It is actually a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack so the usual manufacturer cabling dickery there with a proprietary (ish) cable. You can get them but a standard 3.5 to 3.5 would have been less of an asshole move by Bose. These headphones are completely successful at the two things they say they will do they are noise cancelling, as in ambient noise, they won't make someones voice go away but background noise yes and when sitting in a noisy office they can actually help you listen in on conversations that are further away but masked by air conditioning noise etc.... and they are incredibly comfortable. There are also some 3rd party bluetooth options that are coming out that would make getting the new blue tooth versions a little less necessary. Build wise, you end up with the usual black dandruff after a year or so and need new ear cups but I was wearing these for 5-6 hours a day so, I'm ok with that. The headband flaked off to but there is a spongy material underneath that doesn't look too bad so I have not replaced the band. One of the few products in my life that I can 100% recommend. If you are looking for an audiophile experience then go buy audiophile headphones.

I agree with others who noted that having a replaceable AAA battery is a quick fix when your power runs out on aircraft that may not have USB charging ports. LIkewise, I'm not bothered that these are wired. I frankly never use headphones anywhere but on an airplane and as familiar as I am with short and long haul aircraft, I have not yet come across one (including private jets) that has wireless sound when watching a movie.....so it's either wired or you're using those disgusting airline headphones in the hope someone really did replace those uncomfortable ear cushions....oh, and sound it always going to be better over copper than over air.

I bought the QC 25 recently. IMHO they are very good at noise cancellation of low frequency sounds, if you sit in a noisy office, they really make a lot of a difference. However if you wear them in a quiet space, you hear some white noise they generate once they are turned on.. I guess the noise is generated and wanted, as total silence is uncomfortable as well! Music quality is NOT comparable to a mid range normal headset.. It misses a lot of base and the music sounds somehow distorted a littlebit, but after some minutes you won´t notice this anymore. They are designed to cancel noise, so they have to choose the appropriate frequency response by that, and not by "perfect music". For the first 3-4 hours i felt like pressure is generated too my ears, once the noise cancellation is turned on.. However this feeling vanishes as you use the headphones regulary.. I guess it´s a learning thing, as the brain thinks something is pressing onto your ears as you don´t hear anything anymore, so you get the sensation of "pressure" even if there is none.

I own a pair of these. I love them. I think the mat metal on the sides, and the band feel pretty nice. I also love the sound quality, the ear ups, and the noise cancelation. I personally use these for school and gaming and I just love them and I’d recommend these to anyone. The only two issue on them is the fact they have leather ear cups that get a bit hot as well as the head band which after wearing them for about an hour or two it starts pinching your crown

Hey!! Comming from someone 2 years in the future are these headphone still worth it? I kinda wanna get good noise, cancellation, headphones, and I’ve looked at the qc35 and 45s.. but they are a little expensive for me and I was wondering if they’re still worth it?

Good review. Bass impact is really acceptable to the ordinaries, and non-musicians, and was never acceptable to real authentic audiophiles who listen to classical and ‘real’ music of previous decades. Concert hall acoustic engineers and environmental architects never build halls for live music with an over-stressed bass. It’s so stupid to think oppressive bass is in anything but second rate music and sound which is not even classifiable as any kind of music.

I just got my bose Bose QC25 noise canceling headphone in the mail toady. i agree that they appear abit flimsy. i noticed that right out of the box. However i tent to disagree with the sound quality. the base is very potent. I however did notice a difference of sound quality and volume from one mp3 download to another. i think its not the headphones fault but the quality of the music download. The noise cancelling is great and about what I expected about 90% decrease in noise, but can still carry a conversation with the person sitting next to you normally. Overall Id say worth the $300 if you can afford it.

+Steve Lange Thanks for the detailed feedback Steve! I'd say the bass is a decent amount if you're looking at the headphones alone, but it's in comparison to other headphones where the bass impact is less than others (V-Moda, Audio-Technica, for example). You make a good point about song file quality! Quality headphones require a quality source as well.

Do you know if they fixed the issue that the QC15 had (headphones not powering up due to a design defect... the wire that runs from the battery compartment to the negative post on the door/hinge has a fatigue failure problem. Through many repetitions of opening and closing the door to change the battery you inadvertently cause the wire to snap)?

Buy 4 rechargeable 3a batteries. 1 used already waiting to charge 1 one in the fones 1 in your pocket to replace and 1 spare should you forget to charge the other 3. Plus to sort the base buy BTuunes bespoke blue tooth adaptor for 70 bucks.

I've just bought a pair from eBay and even when they're not connect to my iPhone they can give off 2 to 3 dull thumping noises when I tap the outside of the ear pieces? Anyone else had that problem?

i don't remember if this was the model but i tried several bose headphones including the top of the line at a bose store and was dissapointed in the nc. i was expecting a vaccuum of silence but even in the store, i could hear voices from people talking just a few feet away. i'm sure it can handle the hum of airplane noise but it didn't do a good job on simple voices. i guess that would make up the 10-20% that these headphones can't quiet out.

Hey I think about either buying the Bose QC25 or the bose studio wireless. I would also like a consider an audio technica product that is wireless, but I have seen any good options. Which do you recommend?
@oDiProductions
8 жыл бұрын
+Mauricio Castro As great as Audio-Technica is, I don't think they're quite there yet with Wireless headphones. Their wired offerings are much better quality. With that said, the Bose QC25 isn't wireless either, but does have decent sound quality and excellent noise-cancellation. I would go with the Beats Wireless if Bluetooth is a must, they are pretty decent sound quality for a truly Wireless headphone.

Crap headphones, they are very fragile and the warranty is for one year only so don't drop these even on your desk;mine broke after doing that, the headset works with apple or android only but not both so make sure you get the right one or you wont be able to make or receive calls. The sound quality is only good if the noise cancelling is switched ON, otherwise they are crappier that skull candy Headphone ,but the noise cancelling is pretty good, second to earplugs.

The good thing about an AAA battery is being able to change it. Rechargeable headphones require you to charge them. That is not always possible when you are on the go. I think these headphones are great. I think the comment about a relaxing sound is spot on.

Right. And what happens when the built-in, rechargeable battery dies and needs to be replaced? You'll be on the phone to Bose, paying for a pricey replacement battery. But more likely, you'll need to pay a large fee for them to replace the unit on one-time basis. If your QC-35 dies while you're traveling out of the country, good luck! I'll take a AAA battery any day!

I love to have a pair of these, but the price is an obstacle. I'm glad it doesn't have a built-in rechargeable battery. The problem with those is that they only last so long after being recharged so many times and they're not replaceable 0f the ones I've researched. I've got a pair of Meelectronics blue tooth headphones and when the battery dies, you just have to throw them away. I have a pair of Bose TP-1A that I've had for about 8 years and they sound great (not into boomy bass) and I've listened to the Quiet Comfort 25 at a Best Buy. They're on my wish list!

So with a noise cancelling will completely +300 people in a open office with lots of talking, music playing, and noises?
@oDiProductions
8 жыл бұрын
+ilovedragons That sounds like a pretty noisy environment so it's not going to completely remove all noise, but it'll take care of about 90% of it, depending how loud your music volume is. I will say that it will still make a pretty drastic difference.

In reading the reviews on these it seems as there is a problem with delicate wires breaking in the ear cups especially the right one after about a year of use. Did you have a problem like that with yours?

I've seen that it is often stated that these are for Apple products or something. What do they mean with that? Can't you use the noice canceling on Android phones or something?
@oDiProductions
8 жыл бұрын
I think what you're referring to is that these come in an "Apple iOS" version and an "Android" version. Either version will work with any phone, regardless of Apple or Android, but the difference lies in the cable. The cables that come with these headphones have phone controls and an in-built mic, so those phone controls only work with each specific phone.
