The pump cuts off because of your truck. The 99-14 Silverado’s have a issue with the evap and the gas tank vent. You can have the evap system serviced if you want it to stop but it won’t cause any problems.

Hey, what's up, Erik, from Texas here. I know rust is a big problem up from where you're at, I recommend RP342 it's a wax sealant that you can spray on your trucks frame to prevent it from rusting and stops present rust as well. Though I recommend wearing goggles and clothes you can throw away because it'll get everywhere, which is good in the sense that if it lands on the frame but not on you. But yes, I really recommend wearing goggles for sure. But anyways, yeah, just thought I'll mention that, since I saw how your trucks bed is rusted out. I hope you get that bed soon. Animo, puro para adelante, saludos des de Texas. Stay safe out there, brother, representing la raza al cien. Edit: also what's awesome about rp342 is that it's not like paint. It's a wax sealant that sticks and stays, and can only be take off with like gasoline or anything in that sort. So it'll be ont your truck pretty much for as long you own it. I've sprayed mine like 2 years ago and it's still on there like when I first sprayed it. And the more layers you spray, the better. And what's cool is that if rocks hit your frame and scratch some of the wax off, it'll still be protected because I tend to leave a thin film of wax. Unlike if you were to paint it, the pain would just chip off and expose bare metal, and then it'll trust and work it's way underneath the rest of the paint which is a big problem.
