Ernie sounds like an amazing person, someone you would definitely want to meet and have in your life. What a loss for his family and the whole community! There aren't many "Ernie" around these days. I'm very saddened by this whole affair and how it's playing out. I pray there's going to be a definitive breakthrough soon. 💔💙💜

I am very discerning as to which TC material I watch/listen to, John is only one of only 7 that I watch on YT, Georgia Marie is one of the others. I knew I had heard of this case recently. I truly appreciate John covering it as well, the more coverage the better, and different methods of presenting these cases, allows for the possibility of small aspects being brought to the light.

I've watched you for years. I never really comment on anyones videos. You're a good soul John with pure intentions. That's very clear to see. Always has been. Some people in the crime community are just pure vultures, not all of course. Rest peacefully Ernie ❤️

John, your KZitem family is large enough that, unfortunately, some of us will be touched by violence. All we can do is light a candle to help them find their way through the dark. We hope they come out the other side with the fewest scars. And, John, you help the most. And, you never hear THANK YOU enough. So, once more, THANK YOU, John, for all you do.

Please go like the Facebook page! It's not a group. I followed the link above & just liked the page but noticed they are only at 277 likes. This family deserves more support than that & it's literally seconds to tap twice - the link in the description box & "like"- to show your support. He sounds like a wonderful man. Every community should have a few of him. Please let the family know you care.

I’m so sorry this obviously greatly loved man was taken from his family and the entire community. It is so sickening that someone could do this to a veritable icon of a community who literally spent his life being kind to and helping others. I’m so sad for his family and community. Thank you for sharing this John, you are raising awareness so hopefully someone will know something and justice will be served for the people left behind…

Ernie sounds like a kick, what a fun man, I wish I knew him or someone like him. I think if there is something we need to take away from this first and for most is, try to live more like Ernie & his joy! I am very sorry that his life ended this way, I hope there is justice for Ernie. xoxo I have no idea from the data provided, if I were the family I would just try to contact Marcus and ask him what happened, I'd also go door to door and ask the neighbors if there are any and I would go door to door and leave fliers in the neighborhood if that has not been done, I would also contact Marcus's family and plead for help, my Dad always say's, "you get more flies with honey than you do vinegar." I'd be as gentle and kind as possible and cry to the family for help, the family of Marcus I mean.

There are 2 photos of the crime scene that show all the evidence markers as well as his shirt and other belongings such as wallet, keys, and watch. It's a little graphic although I'm surprised this wasn't brought up. His truck also was parked on the side of the building as he would park there everyday.

Very prophetic, or at the very least, coincidental, to clearly outline everything that he wanted done at his funeral so close to the time of his death. It sure seems as if he knew something was going to happen. Did he have a premonition? Or did he know that someone was coming for him? Had someone threatened him? He seems like the kind of man, so caring about others and his family, that if he had gotten into trouble somehow with some bad people, he probably would have kept it to himself so that he wouldn't worry his family for friends. The long phone call that morning is a red flag too. Did he set up a meeting with someone and it went wrong? Or argue with or offer to help someone and it went wrong? Or was it all just a random attack? Prayers for all of his family and friends. May they discover what they need to, and may Ernie's killer be caught and prosecuted.

Britzcrieg In this case possibly. But there have been cases like this in the past. Look into the Murdaugh case where he hired a man that shot him but Murdaugh survived. Murdaugh wanted to die so his son would get his insurance.

@@charlenehoward9559 I have been ignoring that case, but with it so fresh in the public's consciousness, I guess I can see why you would think of this possibility. Even so, I would not openly suggest something like this in a forum the family could be reading. It just doesn't seem very sensitive.

I hate the phrase "giving back". It is usually applied to people who never took anything in the first place but instead were a net gain for the community. It should be used for those that received welfare and other benefits who later returned those funds when they were able but then it would rarely if ever be used at all.

It's not about funds, it's about spirit. Man, did your post make me mad. If you are lucky enough and privileged enough to have a good and comfortable life you should give back to the community because of your good fortune and luck and fate. I've been lucky to fall into the latter category. It's my duty as a human, and it's a necessity by my compassion, to give back and help where I can. Please stop thinking that anybody who was helped should pay back like it it was some crummy Bank loan. Be a kinder human.

John, when you are missing so many pieces of information about a case such as in this case you can’t really fill in the blanks. I don’t want to be critical because you do so much good for people who are involved in so many tragedies but this suspect could have been innocent of those charges or did not meet the criteria according to the law. My suggestion would be to contact the family to find out exactly what transpired that would have caused this to happen. I’m not siding with anyone but merely trying to look at it through a clear lens. I certainly feel sympathy for Ernie’s family and the entire community but there are points of law that must be satisfied because remember that the same law that protects suspects also protects you and everyone else.
