You guys REALLY need to understand there were 2 sides to 2pac. He was very tough rugged individual but was also a revolutionary who fought for his people. He painted pictures in your head and made you see what people really go thrue

@Tiffany Spencer mayb where you are from, but I am white, and you know, here in Europe the race dynamics are very different then in the USA. So mayb don't be so racist towards white people, but look at your community. As the Tupac said. How can you empower yourself when you see yourself as a victim. You know, people think I get handed everything in live because I'm white, but I worked hard for mine, just like my black colleagues. And we all have our struggle. But as long as you identify as black and identify me as white. We ain't getting nowhere. Everyone is equal in my eyes. You as a person will gain or lose my respect.

Tupac was born in a family of intellectuals who were active members of the Black Panther Party. He was surrounded by activist since birth and very socially aware. The government criminilized the Black Panthers as a terrorist organisation. His stepfather Mutulu Shakur was on the FBI most wanted fugitive list & in prison since 1986. His godmother Assata Shakur escaped the penitentiary and fled to Cuba where she lives in exile to this day. His mother was also locked up while she was pregnant with 2Pac. She got acquitted (without a lawyer) of more than 150 charges of conspiracy against the United States government, so 2Pac was almost born in jail. At the same time growing up his mother got addicted to crack. He grew up poor & they moved around a lot. In his teens he went to the Baltimore school of arts performing Shakespear plays and became an avid reader of literature. His background & his gift for eloquently telling stories made him the most unique rapper till this day. The more you delf into his music you will see he was extremely intelligent who had many sides to him. His music varies from hardcore street songs, socially & consciously uplifting to unapologetically gangsta rap. React to 2Pac - Changes (the uncensored version and lyrics because he raps too fast to catch everything ). It's one of his best socially conscious songs imo.

This is a true story. Pac read this in a newspaper article and felt that it wasn't getting any attention or the amount of awareness it deserved so he made a song of the situation. During this time even now a days rapper's dont usually speak on issue's of teen pregnancy, prostitution, and molestation. Pac always spoke on real shit.

As I was listening to you two talk, I have to say I think this song has a similar context to arosmith's Jamie's got a gun. Very deep message. In both songs. PAC read this story in the newspaper,he decided to bring awareness to the subject of teen pregnancy, in the song he stated that her boyfriend was her cousin (she was being molested)if I remember correctly she was only 12 when she had the baby.her parents were using drugs not Brenda.

The fact that y’all can watch/listen to this song while smiling absolutely blows my mind….this is based off a true story and a very disturbing story at that….the guy reactor isn’t even paying attention cuz he thought Brenda was a drug addict and that’s soooo far from what Pac is saying
@yolandaperry86

The saddest part about this song is that it's a true story. Pac read about this tragic story in the news paper and wrote a song about it. The girl Brenda got pregnant by her molester when she was 12 years old, she tried to throw the baby in the trash, her family kicked her out, she became a prostitute to take care of herself and her baby, and then someone murdered her. Tupac felt sad for the girl and felt the news wasn't giving the situation as much attention as they should have so he made a song about it. This song is a cautionary tale and happens alot but nobody really talks about it.
