In this video, I show you how to brew a fruity wheat beer, specifically a blueberry wheat. This video covers the recipe, the brew, the fermentation and the final tasting. This recipe was extremely simple but still very interesting. I opted to use all natural ingredients this time over extracts, hence blueberry puree. This results in a slightly tart beer as the yeast will ferment through the simple sugars in the fruit completely. The wheat beer base made for a sort of pie-crusty backdrop to the tart blueberry flavors, leading to a very balanced result. I wouldn't change much from this brew, maybe just adding a little food coloring for fun. The wheat beer base used during this brew would work very well for any fruit puree addition to a beer, so experiment away!

~5% ABV 20 IBU
6 lb American White Wheat malt
4 lb US 2-row
0.5 lb Carapils
Single Infusion Mash at 154 for 90 min
Water (ppm): Ca: 86, Mg: 11, Na: 65, SO4: 130, Cl: 100, HCO3: 90
60 minute boil:
60 min - Add 1 oz Willamette (5.9% AA)
OG: 1.045
1 package Wyeast 1010 American Wheat
Ferment at 65-68 for 1-3 weeks, then transfer to secondary and rack onto 3 lb blueberry (or any other fruit) puree
FG: 1.010
