Great video! My ride that day ended at mile 17, so I didn’t get to see what I missed on the ride until your video which seems to capture everything well. @RollinRat Yep I know, I had to bend my Ti cages to hold my bottles a bit tighter. The Specialized hold so tight it's often difficult just to pull the bottles out of the cages. Only downside is you can really only use them inside the triangle. If you use an underside 3rd bottle mount or one of those seatpost mounts, the cage isn't strong enough and will break.

Hi Tyler, Great content As Ever Boss. Thank you. A word on bottle cages. As a cycle mechanic, i used to make ones myself out of carbon fibre, similar to the tune ones, and nowadays i sell Clarks, Zefal, Lezyne and Deda bottle cages. I clocked yours, they look like a generic, widely copied design? Its very easy to overlook something like that, but ones made from aluminium such as the Lezyne CNC'd ones may well help you out on super rough terrain... your other option could be the ye olde traditional 90s style mtb looking ones which of course you can bend/press down to, in effect, reduce the diameter of the space the bottle squeezes into. Hope you get test the two suggestions above before your next outing. cheers. m

Takes a road bike for speed. Puts a bulky handlebar bag on. Was that meant as a sail to slow your descents? Seriously though, I was wondering, noticing you've got some very narrow bars, if going old school road and putting wider bars on, like maybe 44 or 46, and leaving the bag off, would make the handling more comfortable for the same aero penalty. Great vid.

Loving the tool who shouts "wrong bike" on a 10m section of an 85 mile course. If you feel it's the right bike, then it's the right bike. With varied topography, no bike is perfect and you have to optimize for your strengths. Those people are why many are afraid of races, group rides, or just getting on the bike itself.
