Bundaberg was my home town 1966- 2008 , that signal box at museum is from lowmead was in it when waiting for stock train at Lowmead, which was late arriving loaded cattle at 11 .30pm Year 1976. Slow trains those days 🤠🇦🇺

Great video John, been thinking about taking this journey for ages, you might've just made me bite the bullet and finally do it! Just wondering what video/audio gear you're using - the commentary audio quality is great!

@@christiangarnett4806 Wow, thanks for the comments. Taken with a small pocket camera. I have a Canon SLR these days, which makes a fairly good quality movie.

NO, it was a six car set and a three car set joined, to run empty to the car sidings.

I believe if a unit or 2 shits itself, then normally a 3 or 6 car unit of any QR rollingstock will tow it straight to the yards in Mayne through Normanby. I've seen it happen at Fortitude Valley once with a 6 car SMU towing an EMU.

Earlier I was quite dismissive of the need for Cross River Rail, and I have provided QR with some concepts which I will not outline here. However, despite the great expense of the project, I now look forward to it being compleated as I also do with the METROC bus system, which will be an improvement to Brisbane transport.

@@tramwayjohn let's all hope, with the massive works proposed for Roma Street, a true quality station is built, which includes designated long-distance train facilities for passengers to use - that can help grow Qld, as a genuine tourist destination and not the hillbilly effort that's been used for the past few decades. Proper concourse, display boards, departure lounges etc.....however, being Qllllddddd, I sadly won't get too excited. I long to be proved wrong and wonderfully surprised...we can all hope! What a dream to start a HighER-Speed Train journey from Roma St to Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast [proper] and all the way to Gold Coast, [via a new Bris/Beenleigh corridor] to link with the existing higher standard Beenleigh/GC line - all the way to Coolangatta [Tweed Heads in the 21stC?]. Let's hope the Feds and Qld Govt can rise over the next decade to that 21stC challenge.

@@mmmail1969 Artists impression photos seem like there will be a nice entrance to Roma Street Station, and there will be escalators and stairs to the underground platforms. Also of interest is the much discussed METRO which will really be a double articulated BUS which will be double ended. Both the Cross River Rail and the METRO [ so called] should be operational by about 2022. On a related topic, the new bus terminal beside platform ten is an improvement over the former TRANSIT CENTRE layout. VERY handy for people wishing to transfer from long distance trains, to coaches [ buses] in Brisbane.

@@mmmail1969 Sorry about the late reply, but I just found the comments, now. I hope to live long enough to see the standard gauge Toowoomba to Brisbane route operating. A limited peak hour passenger service would be well patronised I think. Three trains into Brisbane in the early morning, returning in the afternoon peak, plus one middle of the day service, each way, daily.

Thank you, I do my best to tell a story. I have a better camera now, which helps of course. I am booked on the Spirit of the Outback with my wife and two friends, in December. Taking advantage of the two for one deal. I will of course make a video of that trip. We will fly to Longreach on the 17th and visit the QANTAS museum and the Stockmans Hall of Fame the bext day. Then traveling on the SOTO in a sleeping car, to Brisbane.
