Hi Kabir... having served in the US military for 20 years, my opinion may be different from the average citizen. Those kids are assigned to protect various British landmarks, jewels, royals etc. In the military, you do not account for people's ignorance, intentional or otherwise. Especially since around the locations where the guards are located you are primarily dealing with tourists, my belief it is incumbent upon the visitor to be aware of the customs and traditions of the country you are visiting. If I come over there from the US, I would not expect the royal guards to make any exceptions for me simply because "I'm a visitor and I don't know any better". Shame on me if that were the case. I also realize that many of those youngsters were recently either in Iraq or Afghanistan. They deserve the respect of everyone and should not have to deal with dim witted taunting and disrespect. Sorry for that one lady who got bumped, but honestly be aware of your surroundings, know the traditions and most importantly pay attention and show respect!!!

The problem with tourists is that they forget or are ignorant to the fact that these military guards are not there for the tourists entertainment. The royal guards are present to protect the Sovereign, the crown jewels, and the royal residence. Their duty is to protect, not to be photographic or tourist entertainment. In other words, they are not circus clowns, they are real life military soldiers preforming their duty. Tourist also forget that they are a guest at the castle and are only able to visit at the Sovereign's invitation or request, and therefore should show respect not only to the Sovereign, but to its military guards as well. Showing disrespect to the Sovereign and the military guards should in my opinion earn you a personal escort right off the grounds. The Sovereign has graciously allowed people to tour the castles and certain Palaces, the least people could do is to be respectful to the military personnel doing their official duties.

And al so they have the duty to March on . And don't walk out of line. And so yeah you get pushed over or what so ever. They are actually playing Karma for those who don't pay attention or think " this doesn't happen to me" . I once wanted to make a picture with a guard and he was sitting on a Horse. My mom said " it would be such a great picture " so me being " intensely scared " of horses. Was trying to stand next to him. And my mom said " why don't you lay your hand on the horse. ( very scared and my legs were shaking ) I tried to lay don't my hand on the horse . The horse moved and I kinda screamed 😱 . Slowly tried it again and the guard looked at me as his timer went off and he took my hand and placed it on the horse . My mom took a picture and that guard somehow look away a big portion of my fear for horses. And my mother & me have the best picture of me with an English guard on Horse in our picture Album. What I am trying to say is that " you get further with showing respect and willing to do good, then to simply act stupid and stand in their way " . ( up untill now I still wished I knew who that guard was. To thank him for helping taking a big part of my fear away ) .
