Real talent with real instruments and awesome harmonies, it just doesn't get better. To bad todays generation doesnt see the beauty in this music. Bring back so many memories.

I was a senior in high school in 1969. We won our district basketball game on Saturday night and I just so happened to make the game winning shot at the buzzer. It was a very happy time and the Brooklyn Bridge were on the radio as I took my girl home after the game. They were very underrated. The Worst that Could Happen was all over the radio.

I wasn’t paying attention to artists or Songwriters I just listened to the radio or the songs. I would sing my favorites all the time. Had kids and they heard me singing them! Then I found out almost all my favorites were written by Jimmy Webb I was shocked. It’s like he writes my Soul and Heart deep within and I didn’t have a clue it was one guy!

Sometimes we don’t fully realize how great a singer is until they are no longer with us. When I think of Johnny Maestro, I put him in the same catagory as Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Frankie Valle, Nat King Cole, Roy Orbison, Jackie Wilson and Mel Torme as the top male vocalists of all time. Thankfully Frankie Valle is still with us. RIP Johnny Maestro, gone too soon!

The whole of the singers is a vocal tour de force. Maestro was incredible and he had a character and timbre to his voice that is very listenable. The Sullivan performance is another fine example of how consistent this band was in live performance.

I knew that guy who is cohost with Mike looked familiar. Then Mike called him "Buddy ", and i realized that it was a very young Buddy Greco. Buddy and i had the same singng coach , but i met Buddy around 1982 at the Inverrary Golf Tournament . He was so friendly, he told me i should be doing toothpaste commercials , because he thought i had a " toothpaste " smile. This show must have been several years prior to my meeting Buddy.

Smitty, a few questions, 1-were you in the band here? 2-who is the guy from the house that Webb wrote Macarthur Park? 3- as a professional musician in the 2019 era, it just blows me away to see so many great artists on one stage together. I am so blessed to have grown up listening to these great bands and singers and writers. Here is my live solo version kzitem.info/news/bejne/tZihl4SVq4qdhXY
