Great knife review on the Brother F005! I like it! It looks like it will be a nice woodsman's knife! Thank you for showing it!

I don’t wear my knives around my belt so I don’t mind a crappy sheath, but I love the simple design of the knife itself. I can’t think of too many other decent full tang knives at the same price point

I have seen similar knives for sale on Ali express and similar places. Pretty sure most of them are not very good, I have seen bad reviews of some of them (and good reviews of others). Ganzo make a fixed blade which is cheap and probably really good. This one has been great so far. The only thing wrong with the sheath is the belt clip, the retention is excellent so you needn't worry about it coming out of it's sheath in your bag either. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. All the best Tim

That seems like a decent knife. If you were to mount it on your hiking bag shoulder strap that might work out better than on the waist strap. I like the neato multi clip mounting apparatus but the rattling sound seems a bit off. Perhaps it's a Chinesium part. I really like the look of it and the retention of the sheathe is superb. Great review friend!

Thanks Kirk, it's a great knife for the price. Sheath does rattle a bit but not enough to bother me, and yes I think there are multiple options for carrying the sheath. All the best buddy

How have you been liking the F005? Have you used it much? Any new info on it?

Still only had it for a few months now, but it has been getting more use than my other bushcraft knives. The knife itself seems excellent. Holds an edge, comftable handle. Good blade geometry. The sheath however I don't like expecially as the safety catch on the tec lock type clip has fallen off (I think I mentioned that it seemed loose on the video). It also rides too high on the belt for my liking. Really great knife for the price though. I am intending on doing another video, a comparison between the 2 Brother knives that I own. On that video I will be able to give a better opinion on both knives after some more use and also some edge retention testing compared to another well known more expensive brand. So far though I think my first impression was pretty spot on really good knife, not so good sheath excellent value for money.

That's the thing with these Chinese Ali express type companies. You never really know what you are getting. Often seem to be and are too good to be true. My two Brother knives have been good so far. The steels seem to be performing as they should. These knives are perform very well for the price. Thank you very much for watching buddy.

The handle has bad feeling when you holding this knife in hand. I can't feel the knife. I would reccomend to replace the scales fot thicker and reprofiled shape ones

Thanks for the comment. It feels fine in the hand to me. We do all have different hands though. This is the problem with knife reviews. It is one person's perspective and we are all different.

Great video mate, I noticed you mentioned some Condor's. Do you have any experience with them? I been looking at them for a long time but reviews are hit and miss. Particularly the condor woodlaw but its kinda pricey. Look forward to your review on that new one you got in the video. Neat looking knife but unsure on that sheath, Im just picky with sheaths and no clue why lol. Love the design of that knife though, reminds me of my realsteel bushcraft II.

I have a condor bushlore somewhere, the price has gone up a lot since I bought it. Hopefully the quality control has improved too. The edge looked like it had been ground by a small child after half a bottle of vodka. Nothing I couldn't put right though and since it has been a good knife. The price has more or less doubled since then (at least in the UK) and I am sure it was no more than 8 years ago. Thanks for watching Hope all is good with you.

All is good my friend, yep that is what I had read about the condors minus the vodka part lol. I will stay away and not take my chances then at those prices, thank you for letting me know mate.

I do quite like the look of condors urban edc puukko though (another foreign knife trying to be Finnish like your cold steel). You are right about the sheath by the way, it does the job though.

im curious how the knives have held up,hardening of the knives is what im most unsure about,D2 is a hit or miss steel if heat treat is bad the blade can easily fail if its done right its one of the strongest steels around.

It does hold an edge pretty good. I doubt if I need to worry about breaking it as it is pretty beefy and I don't over abuse my knives too much except for the knives I work with every day (Moras or similar). I think it would have to be very poor steel to completely fail on me. The 440c version seems easier to sharpen and they both seem to hold an edge well. I do use other knives too and to be honest to get a really good idea of how good the steel is I need to use them a lot more. I am planning on doing another video comparing 2 knives and maybe doing an edge retention test to compare the steel in maybe a month or 2 when I have used them a bit more. Thanks for watching All the best

Not gonna lie I about ordered one but it's just to thick for me to justify it. I like my thick knives to be 1/8" or .125 max blade thickness. This knife is near 5/32 I just cant do it lol , still a super nice knife for the money just not my taste.
