Hello from Brunswick, GA. It was great watching you make Brunswick Stew. I’m originally from Northeast Georgia where we use smoked chicken, pork, brisket, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, ketchup, bbq sauce, and pats of butter. We then emulsify the mix using a blender and top it with pulled pork. Some people here like onion and some don’t. Y’all come see us. Please keep making great videos.

I'm from Eastern NC and where I'm from Brunswick Stew is usually a meaty side dish served with Carolina Chopped BBQ.. It has to have potatoes and butterbeans, which is non-negotiable, especially the butterbeans. Also tomatoes is a point of contention just like it would be for Gumbo lovers.. I think Red Brunswick Stew is tooo ketchupy in flavor.. I prefer the non-red version which is more traditional and what I devoured as a kid. Also I know it's a "stew" and anything goes, but the meat needs to be of a certain texture.. if you think about restaurants made it from leftover BBq pork and chicken.. so the meat is usually shredded and well mixed... I can see if Daddy Jack is making it, it's meant to be eaten as a main dish that he can add whatever tomatoes, meats and sausages that he wants and it's gonna be great.. RIP.

One of my favorite stews or soups!!! Super easy to make, and you can add almost anything you like. I prefer to use leftover pulled pork I smoked to add that Smoky flavor, but chicken or brisket works too. I've even thrown smoked rids in mine before. The bones add that little something to the broth. Planning on smoking a butt and some ribs this coming weekend.
