One of the best all around knives ever made . It's like the 1911 of fixed blades .

I love my Buck 119 knife. It has been with me for 20 years now and going strong. Great value for this knife.

Its not an axe, its not a throwing knife , its a cutting tool used for processing game and small camp chores. And if given respect it will last generations.

First tools into the woods, a knife and a hatchet/axe. I am a woodsman, outdoorsman not really into bushes, usually avoid them as something to go around except when they have good berries. Love all my Bucks and am endeared to the 119.

I bought my Buck 119 probably 30 years ago, still have it. Always liked the look of the knife. First bought it as a camping knife and always heard it was supposed to be a hunting knife. I'd like to get one with the cocobolo handles.👍🗡️

I had a model 119 for a short amount of time until I gave it to my grandfather, then went back to my base to look for another one in our exchange and ended up buying one with the longer blade on it and still have that knife. That knife is over 40 years old now and the sheath is still in great condition. I also have the model 110 folding knife and still have it and the sheath it came in. I saw a model 119 and model 110 at the local Wal-Mart, but I will try to get one from the factory instead if possible. I have never thought of or tried using the Bucks as survival knives, but they are great as a general purpose knife and I carried one on my belt while working in the Air Force and stationed at one base in California. I have a Schrade survival knife which was made for that purpose and I keep it on my utility belt. I also have many other knives which I love, both American made, Japanese, and Chinese made.

A great video, with a sensible appraisal of this knife. You've convinced me of it's worth.

Bushcraft has alot of snobbery for something that has been done since pretty much the beginning of our time… tools are tools as long as they work, great video

Nice realistic review on the 119. Guess I'll have to go out to my wallmart and buy one to add to my collection. One thing I really love about the buck knives I do own is that they come sharp and are easy to resharpen. Thanks for sharing and God bless 🇺🇸

Bushcraft. Lol. We used to call it camping. I won't even most "Bushcrafting" occurs in a back yard, an improved campground, or within 50 yards of the truck. I have a bunch of lives that are indeed considered to be "bushcraft" knives. The 119 generally serves me just as well.

Doby Pilgrim 😂 we used going to the woods and building a fort, lean too or some improvised shelter and a fire. Camping was in a camp ground and hiking or backpacking was going from point a to b. If you stopped overnight there is no time or need to “bushcraft.” Bushcraft I guess is a UK term that has become a marketing tag for knives and sundry gear. Only things can think of is to differentiate from the other marketing term tactical.

It's a strange one, it used to be just a set of skills that would make being out in nature easier, then it became about the man jewelry.

Great video. I had one of the phenolic ones as a young man, but it disappeared years ago. I was just gifted another and I'm pretty stoked about it. Hard to beat a good all-rounder at a good price point.

Low key and appears to be shot in a phone but what a review! No borrowed dogma, no collectors or steel fascist's BS just a practical demonstration and a skilled one at that! I don't own a 119 but I sorely tempted now!

@@chbcarpentry Wish they were that price over here in the UK. Anyway since I posted, family bought me one in wood for birthday and I (embarrassed) recently ordered the black just to round out the set with my two 102s.

If I like a knife I use it, it clearly works great and looks awesome. I think a "Bushcraft" knife usually has a scandi grind and a shorter blade more specialised for wood carving. I'd call it a hunting knife but I think the names are mainly for shops and any strong sharp knife is good in the woods. All the best with the channel, subscribed.
