I felt bad for Dwight. He respected and loved Buck. Losing a parent and sibling is sad, but losing a best friend comes in a close third. I liked both their styles of music.

My great uncle is Filipino and he worked the fields of the San Joaquin valley for 22 years starting in 1947.. He lived in Bakersfield and he loved Buck Owens. He died today and I wanted to hear a Buck Owens song...

Many in the US don't know that Buck Owens, Merle Haggard'as families were discriminated against during the 30s and 40s because they were "Okies." They struck up friendships with minorities like the Mexicans, Filipinos and Sikhs who worked with them in the fields of Central Valley Ca and my uncle used to talk so much about Buck Owens and how he remembered he drove trucks and finally became a =Country Music star. He loved Buck Owens and Merle Haggard (who died yesterday). I wanted to hear this song again today.

I love this one. Bakersfield is my hometown. "The arch" was originally at the Bakersfield Inn where I went to work at 21 years old. My boss, Morley Turner asked me one day with a smile, "who do you think paid that electric bill lol?" I was so happy to see it go to Buck's place. It certainly is one of the best memories for me. Thank you so very much for loading this one! Buck Owens did a lot for Bakersfield with charities. They sound great here together!

Do you remember when the CMA had class and true artists? Do you remember as a young child you begged your parents to stay up late just to see your favorites on TV because they insisted on showing this on a Sunday night? If you do then you lived during a great time of music. Aside from the 50's and 60's....
