As a hobbyist I can tell you that you will probably mess up on every build you do. That said, you will become a better and better builder because of that. You will learn tricks to make your next build better by correcting mistakes you make on your current build. My mistake list would be 3 times longer than this video. Keep at it, you're doing great!

Nice little project. I would recommend that the xover going on the back wall. Your frequency response would improve you want to avoid ever having your coils close to any magnet or ferromagnetic material and with plenty of practice veneer gets easier. I love the fact that you're doing your video it reminds me of when I first started building speakers back in the 70s .looking forward to seeing your next.

Is it possible that there might be more room for the x-over if it were mounted on the 'ceiling' behind the tweeter? Just a thought....but a fun build nonetheless! Thanks!

Yes some mounted on the rear panel, but it never occurred to me lol

The Dayton ND92-8 driver reaches down to a TRUE 50 Hz and holds with-in +/-2 db to about 6.5K Hz. For $7-8 more, it's far better sounding driver and provides a more suitable impedance load to most amps. I built a pair of kitchen speakers with the old Aurasound Neo 90mm 8 ohm driver crossed to a similar tweeter in 4L nearly twenty years ago. Port tubed instead of passives. They are fine for washing dishes (my hands are my dishwashers!) and cooking or listening to my little flat-screen. The Dayton ND-92-8 is a near clone of the old Aura. I pushing them with about a ten WPC Lepei TI amp (with a BIG power supply), and by my home-made "DATS", they get up to about 103 dB with 5% THD at 1 meter. I didn't go for "maximum" low frequency (about 47 Hz), 50Hz is a far better compromise.

looks like a lot of speaker for the money, and applying a veneer is something i should consider on my builds. any speaker i have painted gets messed up after a few months, it is the screw point. even when i fill it and sand it perfectly. they bulge out after a few months. I see the issue with small speakers, i made one with 3" drivers also, hard working inside that thing, i had bracing and dividers to contend with. But i had digital crossover to at least i had not passive crossover parts to fit.

Something tells me you have experience with video production already. The quality of this video definitely does not come off as fourth release. I suspect much channel growth ahead.

What size or heat range soldering iron did you use?. I have the same kit,but I've never soldered wires or built speakers before. Please be nice lol.

Hey, I'm not an expert on soldering. I use a pretty small tip, and crank up the heat. This is a very cheap unit from Amazon. Good luck!

these small ND drivers and matching passive radiators are a blast👌 I built a portable box using these and an old double casette boombox and shaming JBLs all day.😂 the plastic box has ofc 4layers of laminated heavy fiberglass inside (air tight)..//and using D class 2x50W amps and 10cells,.20V li ion batteries

Clean up those edges around the tweeter and then hit the exposed inner edges with a black sharpie. You'll be much happier with their look. Also, check out the trimmer that Tom Zarbo made / uses for his veneer work. The Pint Sized Powerhouse build gives good pointers on it.

Hey a familiar face! Yea I kicked myself for not using my router on the tweeter! And yes a sharpie would definitely clean up tweeter hole. It's press fit (TIGHTLY) so it may be a while before I pop them back out. Thanks for watching!!

It's pretty crazy. Didn't even really show up (in an obvious way) in freq response. But the DATS doesn't lie!
