We continue with the Rhodesian Ferret armored car! After we have dealt with the assembly of the vehicle, the figures and the diorama base in the first part, it is now time to proceed with the painting, weathering and the scenery.
The Ferret got painted with Revell Aqua acrylics as usual. I had to mix the colors of the typical Rhodesian camouflage myself, but it wasn´t too difficult to get it right. Spraying on the camouflage blotches as more difficult and required a steady hand, but with a few tricks it turned out nicely in the end.
Since the vehicle sports no markings i could move on right to the weathering stage. A couple of paint chipping and dust effects were enough to breathe some life into the model. At the same time i also painted both figures.
The base received some colors as well, i painted and shaded the rocks and the dead tree with acrylics as well. Then i used my good old earth paste again to replicate the ground in our scenery. Into the still moist surface i worked in various plants, which led to a realistic result.
I hope i was able to show you guys my procedure in a short and comprehensible way in this video. Of course you can give any technique, which you found interesting, a try. In that case please let me know, how it turned out for you. If you have any questions, then please feel free to ask me!
