Those fasteners don't structurally support pull away. That's for shear forces downward. You need to bolt the header per the IBC for pull away forces.

I am a framer in seattle. I wonder if its my engineer or local code, but I always have to install a 2x (sometimes a double 2x) ledger with epoxied 5/8" anchor bolts, then all simpson hardware anchored into the ledger. Ive never been allowed to use concrete screws to directly attach (also i noticed the hardware you showed was not Zmax, which would be a big fail/redcard in Seattle) the hardware to concrete. Very interesting

How are you going to fasten the Simpson post anchor to the wood post if one side of the bracket is against the brick. Seems like both ears on that bracket should be perpendicular to the brick so you can get all of the fasteners into your wood post

@buck ewer We've had great success with these pin foundations in the Northeast, even on hillsides. Our frost depths are in the 40 inch range. Five years so far, a number of projects, no issues. What part of the country allows you to only go 15 inches down? We go 50 down.

@buck ewer Uh, check your math. First of all, 44 inches at 45 degrees is 44xsin(45) = 31 inches, not 22 inches. Second of all the DP 100/84 goes down (84-6)xsin(45) = 55 inches.

Looks interesting but I build decks by myself or with one other person. My question is "Is this doable with one person?" I notice you have at least 2 guys working on each one, with another guy jumping in at times. Also how easy is this thing to pull out if you hit a rock on the 4th rod. If it's supposed to resist heaving I would assume I would need a machine to lift this thing.
@ixoyedeg

I installed a DP50 for a deck adjustment at my house all by myself. You just have to be careful to keep the base level as you start the pins, so you take care to evenly pound the pins side to side and then across. It might be easier with extra people, but it’s totally doable with one.

I disagree with the ease of installation. One man and a bobcat can do a caisson in a few minutes. The same bobcat can deliver the concrete to each caisson. This method is a lot more labor-intensive. Even galvanized steel especially in the soil will rust.
