He’s amazing he’s just a natural on a bike!! Yes he will have to train a lot and discipline his self but come on the stuff he does needs massive balls off steel as well.. him and Danny Mac are in a league of there own…

I bought a Pivot Shuttle LT with the 801 motor 2 weeks ago and asked them to make sure it had the newest firmware in it. i didn't think to ask them what overrun setting it's on, but it for sure has a decent amount of it. love the bike so far.

Liteville is a very good bike . Have mine Emtb since the end of March and very happy with it. I have been on "Analog" Liteville 301 for 5 years and really are well thought out bikes with lots of good features.

I dont think any company has done this yet, but someone needs to start making emtb motor mounts so you can put a different brand motor on a bike that has Shimano or Bosch or whatever. That would be excellent.
@kaspernielsen2444

@The-Brandon-Iron oli-ebike makes a motor, that fits both shimano and bosh designed frames, not quite what you are talking about, but at least you can get a motor if everything else fucks up.
@godlike0630

Its not that easy as just swapping motors. You have to consider the battery, controller amd wirings. They are not compatable. Lets says you have successfully swapped a bosch motor with shimano motor on the frame. You also have to swap the battery and the control. And batteries differ in shapes and sizes

My Bafang M620 came programmed with overrun and luckily it is a UART version so user programmable because I couldn't dial out that feature soon enough! Really can't see any advantage to it over instant engagement that I replaced it with which allows me to ratchet the cranks as I have done for years to avoid pedal strikes. I even have a throttle that I could potentially use in those situations but never do. It is handy for starting off and as a walk assist however, too bad you across the ponders and Class 1 folks are so down on them........your loss!

I hated the 4 inch tires in real world riding conditions. I now have a 2.6 that seems too wide at times. The 4 inch tire is really slippery turning on pavement also so be careful. I like aggressive riding and sometimes a little road for getting around.

👍I'm impressed of this long swingarm solution that this Rotwild R.EXC and also the Polygon Emtb have. It must be the most predictable, soft and smooth rear suspension. Guess it will take a little time to get used with it🤔

So Steve, you said you wished more bikes would use BAFANG motors, I hope that means you’d do a more in depth review of how these motors perform under load/ uphill/ sound and so on. I’ll be here when you do 😀

Doesn’t the Giant Yamaha motor allow firmware updates via their App? That said, since I derestricted the motor on my Reign, I haven’t been able to apply updates as Giant lock the motor, apparently. 😢

EP8 update, hello?! There are thousands more bike out there with the EP8! Some people actually bought bikes some months ago still with the EP8 and they all get shiatsu?? Really bad move Shimano! Disrespectful for a huge number of customers. It will definitely reflect in the future purchases.

Same with other brands. Since „technology“ has found it‘s way into bikes, there‘s a new „tool“ for companies to make your 2 year old bike look old. Yes, I know there are hardware limitations which won‘t let them put newer software onto older hardware, but look at the batteries in example - why does no one offer an upgrade/update of higher powered batteries for their 3 year old models?

I've had a very similar experience with Chinese manufacturers. I work in consumer electronics and have visited and worked with several manufacturers in the Shenzen region. Many of them have been excellent. Clean, well laid out factories with good process control, and smart engineers. Chinese manufacturing has a bad reputation in the west because when we (the market, both customers and companies) demand the absolute cheapest version of something, a "cheap" Chinese manufacturer will happily build it it to that spec, which will be crap. But when we pay for a higher quality Chinese company, like with Bafang, or Merry Electronics, you get the higher quality.

The most annoying part of ebikes is, that manufacturers won‘t invest in updating/upgrading their last models once a new one is out. Bosch as example with the CX motors pre-smart-system is not receiving anymore updates and all newer parts like range extenders are not compatible. Buying a € 10‘000 bike which is 2 years later a „dead end“ is putting a bad image on the „eco“ aspect of ebikes. Companies could easy make the newest battery technology available for a 3-4 year old bike and releasing a „power tube“ with 800Ah with the same dimensions as the older 625Ah models. But it‘s obvious that companies rather sell a completely new bike to customers and don‘t care if the „old“ one becomes unusable. I am still thinking, that it could be a good „niche“ business if someone would sell after market batteries with more power for those widely used batteries like the „power tubes“ which all share the same base housing. My 2021 Trek Rail would still be a top-bike with a newer/stronger battery instead of replacing a dying battery with the same 625Ah old battery tech.

cant more agree about the Shimano update, it make it another bike 😍 what i habe to say tho, is that my 2020 Specialized Kenevo already had this... FOUR year early! and what about the Shimano display that do not have a % for the battery? kinda embarassing

Thanks for your videos. I update my CYC Photon from the app. Suggestion for content, is how to convert your existing hard tail or full suspension acoustic bike to an ebike using a CYC Photon, etc. The above will enable people to convert their existing bikes, and save money a lot of the time. Converting your bike enables you to share batteries between bikes (significant expense of build). I use the same batteries on my commuter, step through, single track , and use the batteries from all the bikes for long rides.
