I love my PRS SE custom 24, however, since it came equipped with the Floyd Rose tremolo system, I can't easily change tunings or set the action. In this video I built a tremolo block which gets placed into the back of the guitar to hold the bridge in place while setting up the guitar. You can also leave the block in if you don't wish to use the tremolo system while playing.
If you are a little handy with wood making the block is super simple. I cut a piece of scrap wood to 2" x 3/4" x 3/8"...making sure the measure the precise depth I needed and cutting a little smaller. Then I made a shim out of an aluminum can to get the depth perfect.
For the serious guitarist I recommend owning a string height gauge so you can perform partial set-ups on your own instruments. Learn how to use it and it will save you a lot of money on set ups. Here is a link to a reasonably priced one on amazon: amzn.to/2OnWA9N
My preferred string heights for setups: 4/64" on the big E string; 3/64" on the small e string.
