@AvengerII
5 жыл бұрын
@@jonyt3hchunk Commander Cody got his name from an old serial called "Commando Cody, Sky Marshal of the Universe." A ton of George Lucas's ideas for Star Wars came from old serials like that one and the Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon serials. The rocketpack/jet pack is referring to the fact that COMMANDO Cody flew around with the aid of a rocketpack. The late Dave Stevens who created The ROCKETEER character, admitted his comic was based on Commando Cody and the other Rocketman serials. Disney optioned The Rocketeet and made a live-action film from it that debuted in 1991. Disney has been talking about a remake of that film while they're on this remake crazy (ie, Disney HAS NO NEW IDEAS). The connection between the clone troooper Cody and Commando Cody would have been even more obvious if Lucas had that clone trooper be a SKY trooper with his own jetpack!

You're obsessed with Clone Troopers, aren't you? 🤓 I swear it's gotta be because those guys all sound like you! Nobody had ANY IDEA when Boba Fett was created what he would spawn nearly 25 years later. Heh, considering Boba Fett was originally planned to be THE super trooper! I still remember that I saw him for the first time on American TV in the Star Wars Holiday Special. That cartoon is the ONLY THING that's worth a damn from that special and it's on The Empire Strikes Blu ray. I even sent away (likely bugged my parents) for the mail-order Boba Fett figure. They didn't release that figure carded for years! And I STILL practically gave him away to a neighbor kid who bought all my sets and figures when I got bored of them! 😅 Boy, if I had ANY idea back then of what my toys from the 1970s and early 1980s would be worth! Eh, I don't sweat over it. It's sick today that people NEVER remove anything from boxes and just let that stuff gather dust. That's even worse for model kits, IMHO. THOSE are meant to be built! ****************************** Well, since then I HAVE gotten another Boba Fett -- a statue of him in the animated style they used for the original Cartoon Network (hand-drawn) Clone Wars mini-series. They had a variant of that statue painted up in his TV debut colors (which are GARISH IMHO) but I preferred having Boba in the colors he appeared in in Return of the Jedi. Still got that statue in storage... FYI, I kind of prefer the Clone Troopers with the Jango-style helmet. The Phase II/evolution helmets are fine but if they're gonna all be cloned from Jango they might as well dress like him!
