You have a great attitude towards an honest mistake. It's good that you had help paying for it. Feel good about helping a lot of others avoid the same situation. Be very grateful that you were not looking at Japanese maples!

As a painter I have tarped hedges all day to paint . A few days later and all the leaves on the top of the hedges turned from green to brown ! In only 3 days time ! This may not be your fault !!!

You're right. The very same ones that were clearly dead at the end are already brown in the first video.

Helpful and much appreciated. Seems like a clear case of maintaining reputation vs. actually causing the damage. Tarping plants for 3 days (especially if it wasn't Tyvek [breathable]) would be the prime culprit in this case. Noted too that the boxwoods were already stressed on THE DAY of the wash and BEFORE you arrived. But I totally get it... accept responsibility... maintain integrity... and live to wash another day. Lessons learned.

You like us have the same integrity. Unfortunately those shrubs were on there way out anyway. There were a few that were replaced that I could see in your vids. All you did was help them die a bit faster. They should have been pulled long ago and replaced before you even did the job.

i agree with others on here. Doesn't seem like you caused this if you look at the plants in your work video. That being said - I'm curious what you would use to clean the building if you had this to do over again?

I have boxwoods and that look like blight if they was like that when you started them then ask for your money back. When a shrub has blight ALL of them have to be removed. Because it’s gonna come right back and there no cure for it.

Was there anything that you could have done differently, with the current weather conditions, to prevent this?

Honestly, not really other than cancel the project. It had been postponed twice already and the owner was putting off a "grand reopening" renovation for it. It seems like one of those occasions were everything bad lined up perfectly.

Have you ever thought of using Agent Halt? You never would have been to blame had you balanced the PH from using Sodium Hypochlorite. Sometimes rinsing is not going to be enough. Good luck my man!

when you said your house wash mix is 90 gallons of water and 10 gallons of SH ( this = about a 1%) are you down streaming that? if you are down streaming that mix would be so weak it wouldn't do a thing to clean or kill plants. maybe i misheard and you and you said 9 gallons of water or your applying directly.
@bsvJuice

That would be 10% wouldn't it.?

the ratio between bleach and water would be 10% but the final % of bleach would be around 1% if his bleach was 10% SH

Happens to the best of us. Poor design for plant bedding IMO. Should've broken it up into 1/3's. Let the customer pay their part for declining plants.
