When I’m calculating 4,000,000/7850 I’m coming up with 509 instead of 510, do you always round up when doing these calculations? Just want to make sure I’m doing this right

Is there an error here? Surface area of a circle is pie times r'squared not d'squared?

alright so, this confused me as well. _apparently_ multiplying .785 times the diameter squared will give roughly the same answer as the classic pi(radius squared) formula. ".785" comes from pi (3.14) divided by 4. the reasoning for this screwy alternative formula is that *_most schematics for wastewater treatment plants only supply the dimensions of the tank; if the tank is cylindrical, this means giving the diameter and the height, the surface area and the height, or more rarely the circumference and the height._* it's also important to remember that _some tanks are conical,_ which has a different formula, but the schematics will still only display the cone's diameter. going off of these, the operator would have to stop and divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius before they can proceed with the question. if you're insistent on using the ol' "pi r square" method, it will work, but *watch out;* if you accidentally forget to divide the diameter, you'll get the answer wrong.

Man, I've never taken math and been wrecking my brain what to study for the math part that I was overwhelmed with so much info that didn't even have the desire at all to study. Thank God I found his channel. A blessing, for sure. Is this really all the math for grade one?

I take my grade 1 in a few weeks here in Central Valley, California …Any advice on what I should expect on a grade 1 test? I would like to focus on what exactly I need to anticipate for the test. I have read the volume 1. 8th edition of Dr. Kerri textbook from Sacramento state water program. Any advice or suggestions please let me know

@shaneshenya New Mexico does there testing way better than us. We only get to take the exam twice per year. We dont get to see our score unless we fail. And we dont get to review our test unless we fail. I'm pretty sure our tests are harder too (which is no fun)

@lerngthngs You multiply it by 4 because you have 4 MGD (Million Gallons per Day). The formula for this problem calls for the flow to be in GPD (Gallons Per Day) not MGD which is the way it is now. So to convert MGD to GPD all you have to do is multiply it by one million (1,000,000). So 4 MGD x 1,000,000 = 4,000,000 GPD. Does this make sense? Email me at cawastewater@yahoo.com if you need further assistance.

pie divided by 4 = .785 there are 3 ways to find the area of a circle: pie x the radius squared .785 x the diameter squared pie divided by 4 x the diameter squared remember, pie = 3.14

How old is this because taking the course currently , the exams aren't the same ? I believe it's all multiple choice , without showing math and no partial credit ? I was told 100 questions , all worth one point ...
