This is an awesome video, although it kind of depressing when you realize that part of Sullivan was destroyed by an EF3 tornado not long before this video was published.

Great video. The "Midland Sub" has a lot more backstory to it. Not sure about the Peabody Coal reference, but the Midland Sub is actually parts of two different lines on different alignments. The line at "INRD" junction was originally Monon and crossed the MILW at grade, heading northeast to southwest. About a mile south of INRD junction, the Monon turned due south, away from the current alignment. In the intervening years between L&N purchasing Monon and now, the L&N extended the "Midland Sub"away from the Monon branch to, and over the IC/INRD at grade and continued southward to a now defunct mine. The portion of the Monon heading due south was abandoned. The wye that the train traverses to head north was added much later and that portion of the line much more recent (late 70's). The Monon/L&N northeast from Midland(INRD) junction is also long gone.

Some corrections: - CTC doesn't begin/end at the Sullivan Distant signal, it begins/ends at Sullivan. - There is no North or South Glenn, just Glenn. - South Finley and INRD Jct. are all one location called Midland. - North Finley is called Latta. - The signals and power switch at the north end of Hiawatha Yard is a location called Shanklin. - CTC doesn't begin/end at the Shanklin Distant signal, it begins/ends at Shanklin.

It is interesting that in many of these videos that when the trains switch tracks we never seen a "train meet". These videos have been really cool to watch.

I am a ho scale model railroader. One thing that on my bucket list is to ride in the cab of a freight train. If anybody knows how I could go about this any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Hmm why does an American railroad company’s locomotive have a Canadian locomotive horn? A 1st gen Canadian K3L no less.
