I'm a 71 year old 3 times great grandmother with 2 hips and 1 knee replacement in my near future. I'm doing physical therapy now to get in better shape before the surgeries so there is a increased chance of a quicker, better recovery. One of the exercises is marching in place, an Incredible bore. Then I stumbled across the SEAL cadence "mixed tape", now I look forward to double timing my way through the exercise. My favorite line so far is "late at night when you're sleeping UDT comes creeping around", I'm old enough to remember the original Poison Ivy tune which I always sang to on the radio. Thank you for helping me to get in better condition so I can hopefully walk the Rocky Mountains that surround my home town.

If you want to be a seal, you should join sea cadets. If you do you could do a training every summer or winter and some trainings like NSWOC are basically SEAL trainings. Stuff like this is what helps people get in the military. If your interested go to seacadets.org/join and you can see where your local division is and see what it's like

" Basically SeAL Training "? Laughs. BUDS barely does more than the original " Pre-Conditioning Workout " these days. Hope you like Bicycle kicks, and Butterfly kicks. Anyone can get in, there are no " Superior Standards " anymore. Basically glorified Naval Infantry compared to the past, and DevGru. Since the mid to late 90s, the program got cut, and chopped up. Budget cuts. Hence the shortened Phase 1. Missing Battle-Fortress most important evolutions. And ya see all these " Hollywood Frogs " or " Overgrown Tadpoles " these days...with a lot more mistakes. A lot more Mr. Murphy not being anticipated. And a lot less of the original training. Sad but true. Didnt have no Sea Cadets ( those some kind of Naval Academy / Annapolis recruits? ), we had Paintball Fields to get selected on. Molded, shaped, and walked through. If IT has the Intelligence, and Aptitude that is...back then, you had to have a SeAL Source Rating, and QUALIFY for Bud/s. Selection didnt take just anybody, and never directly into training. Had to prove you belong there. Thats all changed now.

We pt'ed and marched using all variants of these cadences with our companies (A Co., B Co., C Co., etc.) replacing the military branches. Never joining is a big regret for me but Im glad I at least got to run and march to classic cadences with a large "platoon" of dudes. Its a great experience!!
