Yup, your totally right. The new CTS-V will be HOTTest car out on the road. It will blow away all the BMW M-Series, AMG's and Audi's. etc.. And the New design is obviously hot as shown in the 2008 CTS. It will be built on the same platform.

I'm very active in CCA events, especially the tech sessions at dealers garages. Having restored 3 BMWs I agree with you whole heartedly. Nothing compares to BMW. Not MB, not Porsche. They come apart and go back together perfectly. Nothing built like BMW, nothing drives like BMW.

Thats funny, I too have been restoring cars since I was 16. That means I've been restoring cars ten years longer than you have been alive. I believe you are correct in your assessment that simpler is better, but you got it backwards. Ex. Check out some of the coolant diagrams for water cooled Porsches, some of them have in excess of 16 hoses and they are famous for using tapered hoses. All that performance comes at a price.

damn.. if you get down to it, this car is unbeatable. I think it's a great competitor in Europe as well. I mean Europeans love the bold exterior styling because it's different from the curvy lines of the European competitors. The interior is unlike "plasticky" American cars, if not better than a European car. Lastly the power is phenomenal. wow.

Hey EuroSport2006 - Most of us are here because we like the new cts. No one ever claimed that it was the first car to have ambient lighting. I seriously doubt that the 2001 BMW 740 was either. No one's claiming it's the greatest car ever so why are you so defensive about your Euro cars? Why don't you and IGPAuto go look at some videos of cars you like instead of being ass faces in this thread?

everyone talks about the cts-v blowing the doors off of the M division of BMW thats all well and good for horsepower ratings and all, but the M5 alone outsells the entire v-series lineup in America. thats something cadillac should be trying to fix rather than just making a straightline fast car.

It's disappointing that car makers spend a lot of energy coming up with new exterior colors. However, now days, interiors can only be had in one of three colors, black, grey, or beige. It seems like car makers are working hard at not making offensive interior colors rather than being creative. Whatever happened to deep red, navy blue, fern green, coca brown, etc.? Car makers have pretty well nailed it with their exterior pallets, now how about focusing on the interior pallets?

Great, but BMW is leading the way when it comes to SIGNITURE lighting technology. A Cadillac could be recognizable from the rear for years. It's only very recently that they have made Cadillacs distinctive in the front. Audi is trying that 12 LED thing below the headlights but its not working well for all their models. Very nice video though.

Whats the matter wit u man. U dont gotta be hating. Don't worry, BMW will probably offer all these lights in a couple years, just so YOU won't feel left out. When BMW does release it, you will brag and say that the ambience lights in the BMW are better. Unfortunately they will charge you a thousand dollars for it.
@bobo1800

BMW already has started to use interior ambient lighting in its 2007 3 series models. So, BMW sorta hit it first to shed light on door handles inside. The front tube lighting is well....silly I think. Jaguar has its yellow indicators by the xenons and I swear you can't see them for shit, I can't imagine Cadillac being any more noticed with the xenons on. I think its a nice try, but overall just one more thing to burn out and charge up the ass to fix. Go American Made.....
@rsaghr

The 3 series is a great car. I just don't understand why it is so overpriced. In a way the Asians and the Americans are in another class. It's called the "perform just as good, without the badge, that costs about 10k less" class. I don't know how reliable the BMW website is because they might not have a CTS to compare, but they have a Saab 9-3 and a Lexus ES350. By the way that G37 is coming at BMW real fast. Ill tell you to hold on tight, because thats gonna be a rough fight.

Do I really need to bring up the sludge issue with Toyota, not to mention the new 5.7 breaking camshafts and needing the engine replaced. At least Toyota has admitted to the 5.7 fault and is replacing engines free of charge. Honda has the odyssey, major transmission failures and electrical problems.

wow, EuroSport2006. People are really bashing on you. But you do have a point. I mean, common its comparing domestic vs Import. on Rsportscars, they surveyed what convertible would you drive in the summer, and the XLR was last. Against RS4, SL, BMW, and some asian car. You know whats funny. They, present it as if they made it. But BMW already has all that shit. 100% ture, dude they did copy BMW!
@DUSM

Your statement that BMW would never copy Cadillac is totally false. You can bet your life savings that auto manufacturers are watching everything that the others are doing, regardless of what 'customer' like yourself are spewing. Despite your naysaying, Cadillac has proven to be innovative throughout its history, just do a little research. In fact, earlier in BMW's history, it is reportedly stated that a former chairman wanted BMW to be the Buick of Europe.

the car is cool and all but the way these luxuriy cars are manufactured today s a nightmare to cutstomers. To simply replace the headlight bulb, not even the led's or anything, you have to remove your wheel, then your splash guard, then your inner wheel panel, then the bumper from the fender, just do do a bulb. Simply ridiculous. Also i dont know if you have a CTS like i do but if you think your battery is under your hood lmfao think again. Near the wheel. Simply stupid. Read before you get.

LMAO. Do you really believe this? BMW is hardly a luxury vehicle anymore unfortunately. Coming from an old German enthusiast. When it comes to inside luxury no one beats out Cadillac and Buick this year so far. Coming in next to them is definitely Lexus, followed by Mercedes, Audi and BMW. Which is VERY sad as Audi is one of the most pathetic brands ever made. Acura can be thrown in there somewhere as well, but I'd agree they aren't as, "high end" as the others.
