The facelifted version surprisingly aged well compared to Cadillac's other offerings around this time.

Agreed. I'd also take a well kept 94-99 DeVille. They aged well, too

I own a pearl white 1993 ETC 4.6L right now.bad part is no dealerships will touch them,also most shops dont know how to work on them.this was a totally new generation. if you have the eldorado touring coupe like me its even harder to source a good old mechanic and parts.parts are very scarce

Love how they show the little girl sitting super close to the dash when talking about the airbags. I remember things changed pretty quick when kids in the front seat started dying from them.

Thanks for the uploading! I have these all on VHS from what I collected years back from the dealer that my parents use to go to. That dealer closed when the recession hit and GM restructuring soon after that. This is a quick and easy way to watch this from any computer. Thanks!

Seems to be of a similar, or even lesser, quality to Rover's Sterling Coupe - which I drove in the UK in the 90''s. I am unsure of the price point of this Cadillac - or its buyer base - but if its anything like the Rover its no where near the standard of any BMW or Mercedes of the time. I also owned both a BMW 735i and Mercedes 190 in the early 90's and they were both fabulous. This Cadillac appears to me to be packed with switch gear and plastics that just don't measure up to what German manufacturer's had on offer in 1993.
@jblyon2

They were indeed nothing like a BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, or even Acura at the time. Lots of cheap plastics, poor fit and finish, and unreliable electronics. You can even see the leather (or more likely pleather) on the rear seat didn't even fit properly, and that's on the car they chose to showcase in the video. The new Cadillacs can't compete either. I had a rental 2 years go and it would have been a great car if it was $42,000. Problem was it cost $52,000, and already had electronic faults at very low mileage (faults which rentals each of the 3 prior model years also had).

@@jblyon2 You've reminded me of the Cadillac's I have rented on visits to LA (last time 2016). Thought the cars were pretty good actually. Not sure of the purchase / lease price point but they were better than I expected. Of course not Audi, BMW or Mercedes standard but everything worked - they were very reliable - and looked great.

"achieves" 16mpg City, wow 16!? Just why would a non sports car need a gas guzzling 4.9L engine!? 4.9L v8 & all it gives is 295bbp!? Good heavens....

Easy to say 30 years later. this was great power at the time. BMW 7 Series had less. and the MPG was better than BMW as well.

Actually the old 4.9 L engine only produced 200 hp. Pretty ridiculous - even for 1993. The 4.6 L Northstar had 295... and other problems.

These engines actually do perform really good. I like the fact that you can hear the engine rev up and shift the way its suppose to with a nice deep tone exhaust. No new car can compare no matter how fast they can go. The fuel mileage is very good. 16 MPG around town is very low, I always got between 20-23 and on the highway it was excellent. My 01 Deville DTS is also excellent for fuel mileage averaging between 22-28 Mpg!
