CALAMANSI JELLY | Dulce De Lemonsito
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups calamansi juice (calamondin)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 tsp fine salt
5 tbsp water
4 tbsp gelatin powder
Calamansi, also known as calamondin or Philippine lime, is an economically important citrus hybrid predominantly cultivated in the Philippines.
The tree grows to about 25 feet tall at maturity. Its pulp has a distinctive flavor described as “a cross between lime and orange.”
It is a common ingredient in some Filipino cuisines. It can be used as a condiment with in any dish.
It’s a basic sawsawan (Filipino dip)-
Among the Bisaya-speaking or in Bicol region, they called it lemonsito.
In other parts of the world, it is known as Philippine lime.
In this video I created jelly(candy) made of calamansi, we only knew calamansi is only for making lemonade and condiment.
Now, there’s a good reason calamansi used so often, as it is a packed full of healthy benefits; it is very high in Vitamin C which can boost your immune system, prevent skin damage,
lower blood pressure and cholesterol, alkalizes the body, good eye health, and against constipation.
