This is one of the last figs on my wish list, along with Bordissot Negra Rimada and Figoin. Very rare to find this variety available, but I'm hoping I'll have it within a year or so. I can't wait for this year's fig season, as it will be my first big harvest of figs (hopefully). I had my first fig of the year a few days ago, a Burgan Unknown, and it was pretty good, so I am officially ready for the figs to start rolling through

I have Calderona and it is incredible this year. My guess is that they are very close.

Nice looking plants. Where do you get your plants? Do you sell cuttings? Pretty new to fig growing altogether.

Over the years I have traded and purchased cuttings to grow out. I do sell cuttings and airlayers occasionally.

Are your container figs outside all winter? I'm still working on identifying best time to pick figs. Learning. 7b in Delaware.

No, they get stored in my garage. My in ground fig normally dies back and regrows in the Spring.

you're chomping figs while the wife mows, epic bro. Is green ischia an early ripening fig? Do you think it's suitable to grow in ground in zone 6b with winter protection?

A man has to have priorities! 😀 Green Ischia has been a late ripener for me. If you want an in ground green fig, maybe try Adriatic JH.

Calderona de Miner and Calderona are supposed to be very different. Is that true with your trees.?

What are the reasons people grow their figs in pots? 🤔 That's a better question lol. The answer is the same as to why you'd grow any fruiting plant in a pot......you can control it's exposure to light and weather. His figs are in pots so he can move them around with the seasons. The "PA" in his name stands for Pennsylvania...it gets a little cold up there with the snow and all during the winters. His figs are in pots for the same reason everyone else's fruit bearing plants are in pots; so they can be moved as necessary 🙃
