Very cool but why are the slots so wide of the pinch weld is only an 1/8” thick?

They are oversized most likely because the pinch weld isn’t consistently flat. They may also be manufactured for multiple applications.

Do most dealerships use the rubber adapter you mentioned? I thought about adding the lift pads, but my concern is if the dealership only wants to use the rubber adapters which would not fit if the lift pads are already installed. Thanks!

The lift pads won't interfere with a shop lift. Dealerships vary greatly on how they jack up these cars and untrained techs can easily use incorrect lift points.

Hey, what jack stands do you recommend for these? Thanks

Craftsman Professional 3-Tons from 20 years ago. I put the jack on the lift point and then use a rubber adapter to use the pinch weld with the jack stands.

Good vid, are you installing these while the car is on ramps?

The car is on jack stands with rubber pinch weld adaptors. You can also do it on ramps, but those can be difficult on low cars. You can use a hydraulic jack and a jack pinch weld adapter like from ZL1 Addons to lift the car, then place it on jack stands with pinch weld adaptors. It's a pain, but the lift pads eliminate it after you are done.

I looked at alot of these on Amazon. They all say not for convertibles. Well thats what i have. What would be the difference between the coupe and the soft top?

There is more bracing under the convertibles, but look at the front and rear pinch welds and see if there is enough space to fit them in. I think a majority of the convertible bracing is towards the rear. I'd call ZL1 Addons and confirm. Buy the real "made in the USA" stuff and not a cheap knock off.

Why don’t over tighten them? How ab if I put anti seezi on before tightening like the hulk then I’m fine ya?
@RacingforALS

Because if you over tighten a hardened steel set screw into an aluminum thread....."righty tighty" could become "righty loosely"
