Thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Rather you than me in winter. I did station to station starting at Ryton station Lake Coleridge which borders the Harper River. There’s some amazing pinnacles landscape the opposite side of the river, but too deep to cross. We even drove across from the station to Mount Algidus. Fascinating seeing that Maori gully track. I’ve driven all round that old goldmining route the Goldsborough. Have you been to the Pike River miners memorial on the Reefton Road?. Well worth a stop to pay respects to see and read all the tributes. I did a video there thats on my KZitem…. cried my eyes out for about 45 minutes. Very very moving. Happy travels 🙌👍

Cheers Sue! Haha - it was awesome - but I'm in no rush to go back and do it again. It looks like we missed a heap of stuff around the station there - weren't planning on heading that way so had done zero research into what was around. I haven't been into the memorial - might have to pay it a visit next time we're in the area - can imagine it's quite a place to visit!

@@OverlandNZTV I’m still tempted in a few years to buy a small house in Alexandra, freeing up cash for a caravan and a newer car, because I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I want to see down south. Just an idea that I might do for a couple of years before moving back to the UK eventually, because it’s home. This is my tearful video of the Pike River memorial. I expected just one memorial, but what is there left me emotionally shattered. I finally understood why it’s never over. Definitely a must do, just to pay respects. kzitem.info/news/bejne/jouG1JOLmJaViag
