I’m nowhere near 12k miles barely over 1k miles on my 2020 but I purchased a top notch belt already from Treal Performance and there are several belts out there if guys want to know and they have about 4 different belts. Gonna change my oil anyway just because it’s year 2 even though I don’t have 5k miles yet! More sound coming! More upgraded performance parts. Oh I can’t wait for the fall to put in the rest of this work and be ready to just ride when spring comes back. New helmets and seat covers coming too!! I have a long list of mods that will finish off HOLLYWOOD and prolly take him well over $11k in mods alone. It’s all good because I already paid the bike off within the first year so it’s show time.

I’m left wondering why the belt is an issue at 12k miles on the Ryker when CVT belts on cars go for 100k +? 🤔. I’m with you on letting a professional do the work. Yeah, it’s pricey but I don’t have the time to spend sitting on the garage floor chasing bolts around. I’d rather spend my free time riding it than working in it.

The CVT belts in cars are completely different. They have metal bands going across them. A CVT belt is grabbed by the sides and not the inside like a fan belt or altenator belt is. So when you remove it, it will look like it's completely fine. But if you measured its width with a caliper you would see that it is slightly narrower than the new one. This causes the slipping and can give poor performance.

Me myself, I like taking something apart and replacing it so I would have tried to do it myself just to have the knowledge of it. Plus I would saved a lot of money, now having said that everyone is different and if you don't feel like doing this job, pay to have it done like you did and I know that you have piece of mind because you now have a warranty. I am glad that you got it fixed so very nice job C8.

Our friend has a Ace900 took 2 hours to replace we have our business here in our home certified mechanic. Forst time working on Ace900 but took 2 hours forst time not including assembling it again. So im assuming the 12k servive is 6 hours because he had dome the 12k service previously and it took 4 hours. Then he advised her that tbe belt needed replacement so she brought it in. So it did total 6 hours but thats for the whole service. Im assuming the service advisor is a rookie who quoted the whole service. ?
