Oh wow!! That is awesome!! I love Gibson's, but I find that 'cheaper' guitars can also be so good, providing the intonation is all sweet. I have a cheap $150 LTD that has one of the nicest necks I have ever played :) cheers!!:)

I have a Chibson. It actually is crazy over performing. I will say I even upgraded my Studio Gibson Les Paul with EMGs. It is always to preferences. The P-90s in Gibsons do have a clean yet brassy sound to me. I have customized so many of my guitars to fit what I play. Usually over the top stuff. I put two Invaders in my BC Rich Mockingbird and it is very hot. I also put a 18v vintage Black Out in my in my BC Rich Gunslinger. It is so over the top when switched to full power it sounds like full distortion. The pick up even came with a warning to not play though small amps. I always keep an eye on the original pickups though. Sometime the value of the guitar depends on the original condition. That being said the guitar I play the most is a 1987 BC Rich Wanderer custom with its original pickup. The pickup was just always nasty from day one made at BC Rich. Each one has a different sound and feel. I also really like the old stock Jackson pickups. All my Kellys have the original pickups. That being said I have experimented putting over the top pickups in very trashy guitars. You get the neck and bridge right and a super pickup in and you can make a rocket guitar at a very cheap price with a little work. Always grooovy CHOEY!

Oh sweet!! Man, that is awesome, so many great custom guitars! It is fun to start modifying them. I have just done this Les Paul, and my LTD M10 (one with all the stickers) now has these Les Paul pickups in, which looks and sounds cool! A little muddy though, I might need to look into wiring and having a full 'Les Paul' setup in the LTD, that would be cool. Yeah man, these cheaper guitars these days rock!! I love Gibson's etc, but I play the same on any guitar, they're all fun! Oh cool, a Chibson - I have always been very interested in getting a Chibson, did you just order online or find it? I'd like to see how good/bad they are - I wonder if they're essentially Epiphone's, or a bit hit and miss?

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Weight is quite good: under 4kg/9lbs. Dark ebony fretboard. Fat neck. Upgrades: Seymour duncan whole lotta humbuckers (zebra) Graphtech nut Jescar stainless steel frets Saddles filed Sanded neck to a satin feel I've gigged it many times, also during jam nights where other people/bands play on my guitar. They've all said that it either sounded and played as good or better than their Gibson/Maybach guitars. Of course, it may not be on par with custom shops/reissues. But a good Epiphone with the right upgrades will create an amazing instrument.

That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing!! I have another Epi LP Custom (limited edition) with a fat neck and just love it. This one has a lovely neck too. The only think I don't love is the gloss neck, I might need to sand this down! How far did you go, just through the gloss or to wood? Very true, I love these Epi's and would absolutely love a Gibson Custom shop. Would sound unreal, but wouldn't make me play any better haha. The price difference is hug though! Cheers, good to hear your upgrades

@CHOEYGMUSIC thanks for the response! The gloss neck annoyed me a lot. I think I wet sanded from 1200 to 1500 and then up to 2000 or something. Just to take the shine off. I didn't go to the wood. If needed, I could polish it and get the gloss back. It feels much smoother now.

Thank you so much!!:) Yes, I agree, I don't think there is much difference and I wonder if legends like Slash or Bonamassa started playing Epiphones live if we would hear the difference? I don't think I would! These days, the cheaper guitars sound and feel so good, and a whole lotta fun!!:)

I don't know about Gibson but those pickups are great and come in my Cort-CRCUSTOM. My favorite guitar is my Cort CR-300 and those have active EMGs which are a bit brighter and more powerful in terms of clarity. I have found that the hands matter more than the guitar. But of all the guitars I have tried I have gravitated towards Les Pauls. Something about the way they feel which I am sure you'd agree with me. Anyway. Good bye for now. One day I will learn to improv like you. I have always wanted a Fender Clapton Strat though. I would love to own one but way out of budget. Great review. Thanks for sharing this video.,

Oh sweet!! Cort make some excellent guitars, whenever I have played them I'm always impressed. I totally agree with you, something about Les Paul's that is just magnetic for me. I think it is becuase I love Gary Moore and Slash etc, and just love that tone. Actually, the first time I played a Les Paul I found it really uncomfortable as I was used to a strat style. Me too, a Clapton or Hendrix Strat is one of my dream guitars :) maybe I will look into a Squier and see how good they are, but at the moment anything new is also out of my budget. Cheers, great to hear your thoughts :)

Hi! I’ve found the same guitar for $250 USD on Facebook, I want to buy it but I can’t find any others online that have the Gibson label on the headstock as well. The guy also says it doesn’t have a serial number so I’m not sure where else to look. Do you know exactly what year/model you have?
@CHOEYGMUSIC
8 күн бұрын
It doesn't have a serial number? Maybe it has been rubbed off, but they should all have a serial number. If the headstock doesn't have the Gibson label then it will be a newer model, and will say Les Paul Custom on the truss rod cover. This one is a year 2000 and made in Korea. I also have a tan/yellow Les Paul Custom (see in some other videos of mine) which is 2007 and it doesn't have the Gibson logo. I think $250 is a good price, would be great to know the year though - maybe try strike a deal? Let me know if you go for it!:)
